Hasbro has also said 8/1 for the release date after moving them up from 8/14 in the first place.

I'm really feeling that lack of calf cut. It'd be more manageable if the ankle rocker wasn't at a shitty angle.

Anonymous
>>8458528 Wow. Maybe they did blow through their entire stock yesterday and feared the backlash of people having it sold out before the public sale. Not a good look for trying to revive your dead brand of figures especially after the Target fiasco.
Anonymous

>>8458529 If it’s like NY toy fair, the preorder will be at like 5pm the same day.
Anonymous
>>8458542 What makes it more mind blowing is this means they had no one restricting the orders, like say they had 6k units, no one set it to count as sold out yesterday at say 3k, they just let it all burn through
Anonymous
>>8458557 Looks to be the same across the board. Same thing with the Hellfire Club set, too. Preorder's open till sunday it says.

Anonymous
>>8458563 Agreed. I would much rather preorder and wait than pay some piece of shit scalper. I have no problems with waiting as long as I know I’m guaranteed to get it.
Anonymous
>>8458563 >>8458574 Haslabs might be giving them the data they need to see if they can do open preorders like PBandai where they just offer to meet demand. This could be a serious game changer in the scalper world
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>8458047 true, but they keep making the same shit over and over.
Anonymous
>>8458585 >could be a serious game changer in the scalper world I mean sure it'll likely prevent day 1 scalping but it isn't going to affect things like aftermarket prices once the items start becoming rarer on the secondary market. Some P-Bandai Kamen Rider SHF regularly sell for over $200 even though there was a pre-order window just like every other figure
Anonymous
>>8458528 same for the hellfire club. I think they sold everything yesterday and are just producing more.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>8458592 Yeah. Don't miss the preorder, but having the option does relieve a lot of the fomo stress. There's always going to be a secondary market, but there'll be less rubes to fall into it.
Anonymous
>>8458597 >I think they sold everything yesterday and are just producing more. give it 5mins. someone will start ranting how there needs to be some special note of a day 1 purchase vs the pre-order one so that theirs is even more special to resell
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>8458592 It’s not aftermarket prices that have made people go nuclear, it’s not being able to get the figures in the first place. Most people understand if they miss a release widow they’ll be paying the late tax.
Anonymous
>>8458622 Man. I saw the Super7 guy saying they're going to re-run the first wave of TMNT with a super slight variation to probably the color of the weapon racks so that the people who got the first run won't bitch that ours aren't special anymore.
Why are collectors like this? Or is it just speculators/resellers?
Anonymous
>>8458631 Joe community is pretty famous for these kinda rants, too. The best was the JoeClub re-running a con set and then there were variations/improvements in the second run which made the shitfest 10 times worse
Anonymous
>>8458646 I sometimes have to wonder what wires got crossed in my fucking loser nerd ubringing where I don't get mad at all this type of shit. I've got my figures and I just want other people to be able to get them, too. I don't need mine to be "special".
Anonymous
>>8458652 Depends, do you make additional purchases with the intent to fund your hobby? If not, that's just normal. It's the have their cake and eat it too crowd trying to justify their existence of collecting.
The only annoying thing is the pre-order delay until next year. Not sure I'll give a fuck that long from now. Missed the Regal variant and Deluxe SE already.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>8458592 Some of that stuff was before the US store launched. As already stated late tax is a thing but this will crunch stuff down like what we are witnessing with Target exclusives going for 4 times their value only a month later.

>>8458652 The type of people like that are like the comic book guy from the Simpsons. Their life’s validation is based on owning rare shit piles that others can’t get as easy. When the product is remade it reduces their personal value in themselves.
Basically if you have a few things like love, kids, a job and/or self worth in abilities or skills you won’t care your carded Cobra dude is worth less due to reprint. But if you have none of those things then that reprint is like getting bullied about how worthless you are.

Quoted By:
>>8458298 Pretty much every panel they had planned for SDCC is going to be at this event instead. They've had the schedule floating around for like a week now, the whole weekend is packed with different online panels for every major Hasbro brand.
>>8458520 ....dude, the actual site has a full list of events with times and it's been up for days.
>>8458592 There's no way to predict or control after market prices, especially on stuff that's long out of production. But you can control releases and make sure there's enough supply to meet demands. Pulse as a website just seems really good at restocking old stuff and keeping toys available to buy even months after their release. Compared to the old Hasbrotoyshop, the Pulse site has been fantastic.

>>8458631 I’m so sick of people buying anything they perceive limited or rare and trying to flip it this year. Circle K gas stations got the winter Red Bull as a pre launch exclusive. I went to 4 in my town and all completely sold out. The one clerk told me a guy asked to buy all they had but they said they couldn’t sell him all of them so he called the store manager in the parking lot and she let him buy it all. They said he had a dolly in his van to get them out of the store. And another store said about the same thing with a dolly and a van. Go on eBay and they’re selling 2 cans for $25 or 6 for $54 with big SOLD OUT in the title. Some brainlets might fall for it and buy it or the people who can’t wait or do food reviews on YouTube. Saw this last weekend with the Super Mario 3D Allstars, I have a Wally gift card to burn and they didn’t get them on launch day. Found out Saturday afternoon they arrived and went to get it. Some guy was waiting in the parking lot since before they opened. They didn’t even have the case open and the guy wanted to buy all 30 they got it!! Hasbro did good with this sale.

ffs. Look I’m not an MISB faggot but I do keep the boxes. Is there a way to make sure Amazon ships you stuff in a fucking box? I got two Joes this week, including the Commander just now, and each came in a god damn bubble mailer. Both boxes are crushed and any shelf aesthetics are ruined. What the fuck. Bubble maulers are cool for books and even Blu Rays and vidya, but this is some bullshit. And then when you try to complain about it, they just take you to this form to get a refund where they want you to send it back. “I want the toy, but I think your packaging fuckin sucks”, is the message I want to convey. That’s all.

>toy aisles aren't even worth stocking for most chains Disagree at least here in the states, most stores are filling up in inventory otherwise why are Walmart and Target even locking in so many exclusives? Both did a hard past on the Haslab Sentinel and Unicron but still made bids on the Cobra Island wave as well as Walmart fighting for timed exclusives like MOTU Origins. They see the worth, it's just you'll likely never see a market where a table sized toy battle is worth the floor space in stores.
Anonymous
>>8465798 Like I explained earlier, it's just to get people in the store. They don't care about the toys at all, they just know there are those that do, and if they can force em to shop at their store specifically then they're more likely to buy more then just a toy.
They don't care about toys specifically, they just want something people can't get through other means.
Anonymous
>>8465871 Sounds like we are saying the same thing but differently. Our core idea is they care for the business sake but we live in an time where an average customer spending past $30 on a single toy is pushing it.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>8465881 I'm not even talking about how much customers are willing to spend on an item. It's more akin to the Loss Leader concept, you sell stuff that you actually lose money selling. But it's done because it will bring people into the store to buy more profitable items.
These stores can sell a 5 cent shirt or dress for 40-50 bucks, and make a huge profit. But toys have smaller profit margins, and putting aside large amounts of space for toys actually means they're potentially making less money. It's why shelf space is important and toy boxes are getting smaller.
Outside of the holidays, toy sales are slow and sporadic and not really a point of interest in a store's market schemes. But they do it, and especially with exclusives, because people are more likely to buy other stuff along with their toy.

Don't worry about about missing out on the Target figures. People will probably start finding them in stores. Next month. Or next week. Or next year. Or who the fuck knows. Some stores will break street date. Yours won't. Some will get one case that slips out the back door. Popfindr and Brickseek will be 100% inaccurate. You'll go to a Target that popfindr says has 6 figures in stock. You'll ask an employee if they can check in the back for you, and they'll tell you no, they can. You'll check that same Target 20 minutes later, and it will say 0 in stock. Fun times.

More so with army builders. The 20th mass released stuff didn’t even dint the Target exclusives of the time. Hell they went up in price. Same could happen here thanks to the rank badge that comes with the CI one.

>>8468439 If it was a one off main character I could see this being the case. But the reason the Troopers were so sought after was to troop build. With a wider release available, you don't need 20 versions of the CI Trooper, you only need one. You can use the mass release version to troop build the rest.
I have a feeling we'll be seeing the CI version in Target stores a lot more in the next few months as having better access to the troop builder figure will greatly lower demand for the CI one.

>>8468456 >If it was a one off main character I could see this being the case Nope. Those dive hard if the newer offering is near the same. Most people just want one Beachhead, Roadblock, etc, so if tomorrow they announced a mainline Beachhead that's the CI with less stuff, the CI one would crash in value hard because most wouldn't want both.
>But the reason the Troopers were so sought after was to troop build. Exactly which means the more options in variation the more the demand feeds. We saw this feeding frenzy both with Marvel Legends and the 20th Anniversary Joes. Demand goes up because now you can have a crew of dark officers leading your light blue grunts.
>you don't need 20 versions of the CI Trooper, you only need one. If you army build you -never- stop at just one, hence why army builders take forever buckle in price and it's usually because a change in the brand style.
>I have a feeling we'll be seeing the CI version in Target stores a lot more in the next few months That's just dude to supply and demand, Target's exclusives have almost always tried to meet demand and beyond with their Christmas season stuff but Target does struggle sometimes like Red Hulk, AT-ACT Driver (army Builder), Imperial Shadow Squadron (army Builder).
I get why you speculate as you do but realistically as hot as this IP is right now you could have a blue Cobra Trooper exclusive for every store and they all sell out. People are buying up the fucking Red Ninja and he was a shelf warmer of the 20th ann. line

Amazon.ca has her for $19.99 - but with $18.99 shipping. Ebay is similar.

So where do you guys get your 1:12 accessories? I tracked down Roadblock and he needs some proper heavy weaponry.

>>8468970 There was a Marvel Legends Punisher with a really nice M60 that also works great for Roadblock, or if you wanna go even heavier one of the McFarlane Fortnite figures has a big ass mini-gun. Otherwise, as previous anon suggested, try Marauders. Though their M249 feels kinda tiny in Roadblock's hands the ARs work fantastic for the other Joes and I bought a bunch of the Tavor's to use for my Cobra Infantry when they show up.

If the trooper infantry is an indicator, is this what we should expect for the Viper mass market release? Less paint and accessories and red gloves to match the cartoon.

>>8470034 I think the backpack would go before the sidearm and holster. Honestly I don't think anyone outside of people who pay scalper prices would have an issue with this getting an unchanged later release.

>>8470063 Yea, GI Joes and back packs are pretty standard so I would think they would include it. It looks like it's made of separate colored piece with just the logo being painted on the blue part so no paint wouldn't be too bad. Unless they make a new mold or include a different gun, I think the rifle would come as is. Goggles were on the original figure so I don't see them removing that. Bandana and side arm weren't.

This is up there for me with Snake Eyes and Destro.

So for whatever reason CI wave 2 isn't coming to the UK despite us getting the first one and the normal line, no reason given, just Hasbro UK being bad as normal. In other britfag news, Amazon has red ninja for PO still and they're set to release November 1st.

Is there a Marvel Legends or Star Wars figure that uses that same scarf? Hasbro loves reusing parts, and it would be good to find an alternative source for the scarf for the inevitable general release viper.
