Being fair to Cyclonus, his character model had it before the final revision, and comics and other media did include it before they started applying it randomly to most toys. It shows up notably way back in the Marvel comics when he gets killed by Galvatron II.

Armada hater here. I think Animated was actually fucking based. Hated the designs at first but grew to love them. Mainly because the voice acting and animation didn't look phoned in. The entirety of the UT just looked hollow and devoid of any love.

I can kind of understand the Armada hate when it comes to the larger toys primarily being bricks, but Minicons are still some of my favorite TF figures almost 20 years later.
>Larger and slightly more poseable than Micromasters
>Some altmodes that at the time hadn't been done before (A satellite, a snowplow, the entire Destruction team, a goddamn Skateboard)
>Some minicon teams had additional gimmicks like being able to turn into individual weapons, friction motors to turn drills/saws/etc, combining into a single large weapon, or combining into a larger robot
>While being a gimmick, they're still perfectly serviceable toys and are actually fun on their own (Compared to shit like Energon chips/weapons, Cyberkeys, or MechTech)

These guys still hold up to this day.

The worst part is that there's no reason for it to be there. The spear isn't thick enough to hurt anything, the shoulder spikes are tiny, the head horn isn't a big deal either, and the arms are certainly not a danger to anyone. The head horn is the only thing that might need it, but it's not a bad enough issue that it was warranted. The animal arms are also extremely malleable and hollow so they bend at the slightest touch, they'll start breaking withing the year if you play with it or pose it often..

The Beast Wars characters I cared about were primarily the toy only characters, so the MPs were mostly a pass for me. The only one I actually wanted was Toy Primal, since he had the masked face and accessories. He's a nice toy but really expensive and the munky mode isn't very fun.

The new toys plus the three Thrilling 30 guys are all much better than the MPs for the price

Yep. That's the point. These are a backdoor pilot as it were for a Bone Age revival, but using Transformers and Beast Wars to get it started. There are five molds coming to Kingdom and the standard redecos of each mold as some sort of Exclusive or Select. They have designs for seven more, including a Leader scale Gigantosaurus that turns into a base if they go forward with it as it's own sub-line, like the Netflix WFC and the HeadMasters lines.

just reposting cause I'm bored, what's up bros? I'm pretty stoked for these beast wars guys. A new Polar Claw would be awesome, hopefully they clean up his ugly mug cause the original face looks like one of those aliens from They Live. I remember my favorite BW bots from when I was a kid were airrazor and that blue n green beetle guy with the crossbow. they were simple, elegant, fun and well-made. probly never see the latter but it would be neat. Oh and the mantis who shot discs out of his claws.

I won't lie, I don't know much about japanese TF designers and who did which toy/toyline. So far, the only guys that I knew were Kawamori (OG Jetfire/Valkyrie, had some hand in G1 Prime and MP Starscream 1.0), Hasui (early MPs, but forgot which) and the guy that designed MP Megatron in 5 days or something (MP Megatron 1.0, OG & MP Star Saber).
