Marketing terms are largely misleading memes, the 3840 x 2160 resolution shouldn't be called 4K because the previous standards like 1080p or 720p had consistently stood for the vertical pixel count, so why does 4K switch to the horizontal count all of a sudden? That's bullshit and the actual resolution should be called 2K, or 2160p to be exact.
