>>8515242The KS was never about "are people willing to buy Spawn toys", it was "retailers don't want to carry Spawn toys, so I'll go directly to the consumers that I KNOW want to buy Spawn toys". He's said as much that he always expected the KS to fund, what he didn't expect was how big the response was.
The torso twist was set in stone, as
>>8515304 said, and as Tye has said, Spawn is Todd's baby and he has 100% control with what he does with it, and in this case he wanted the twist in there. Will it be there next time too? Maybe, maybe not, but Todd himself has expressed that he's open to anything really. The next project will be Medieval with actual metal armor and weapons. Is that the best idea for a figure? Will the sculpt be idea or will that also have pre-posed parts? It's his choice, and if people pledge for that KS then they obviously thought it was a good idea, and if they're questioning the choices, or reject them, they should probably back out. It'd be like complaining to the backpack KS that they picked the wrong color for their items, if the people who are making it like it, why should they change it? Does it twist make it a worse pure action figure? Objectively yes, since now that's one less thing you can do with it, but will it make it a bad one? That's up to the individual to decide. I think it's also fair to assume that the vast majority of buyers are casual figure collectors at best, and otherwise a lot of holdovers from the old Spawn statue days, judging by some of the comments, so they may not care about "highly articulated figures" as much as most of us do.
