Is it as bad as everyone says it is?

If you go to YouTube and look up Figuarts batman > last month, you'll see about half a dozen reviews. Mostly in Japanese because the figure has only *just* been released.

And look up "isaac wong toys" on Facebook because that's the first extensive picture review.

The head sculpt doesn't look great, but it's also flat paint that doesn't look good on crappy phone camera lighting, probably not as bad in person...not great but neither is the NECA.

Cape doesn't look great either, a bit too thick, but easy to get a custom of eBay, body looks pretty solid, it's Figuarts so that should be pretty good quality and good to articulate. And the proportions are pretty good looking.

Nuu essentially makes the figures he reviews look their absolute worst. Any small issues with paint, finish, etc that would be indiscernible to the naked eye are extremely emphasised by his lighting and lens setup. If it looks passable in a Nuu review, odds are it’ll look great in-hand.

That said, the bent ear is sloppiness I really wouldn’t expect from SHF. The line really has fallen off in the last few years.

I know why they did it, but I've never liked how the edges of the cowl just kinda floats over the cape on the NECA rather than the solid, sewn together piece in the movie. The Figuarts captures that look better but even then it's not perfect.

It's far from perfect, to be honest. But the Keaton likeness is pretty strong. I wouldn't call it a great figure but it's indication enough that other companies shouldn't be struggling so hard with it.

Figuarts managed to nail one of the best Harrison Ford likenesses I've ever seen and yet they can suck shit at guys in costumes, something they've been doing since the line started.

The dot matrix printing that they use really doesn't hold up under macro lens and studio lighting. It'll look a lot better in person, trust me.

The printing isn't the problem I have with the figure. It's everything else. It just looks like a Friday afternoon rush-job from the B team.
