Whenever McFarlane was ending their Halo line was truly their lowest point, since paint has been scaled back and so was the articulation. Also, the sculpts were pretty wonky for a while, since they were transitioning to 3d modeling instead of traditional sculpts.
Either way, no one really exceeded what McFarlane did back then, at least for collector lines.
