Not a huge deal, you can always swap it out with something better. 3A for example always ahd great bodies until the end of the company's life, but you could always give them better ones. Aside from that 1/6th quality has gone way up in recent years.

I prefer 1/6th more in my old age, but I'm not a fan of how some brands like to cheap out on shit because of the demographic of the scale.

It's almost definite at this point. I mean, they have the real license, and I'm sure Capcom wants to see her made too.

Kinda thinking about getting this Leon, customizing his outfit to be more RE2-accurate, and pairing him with the unlicensed RE2-accurate Claire. I felt like her REmake design kinda strayed too far from the original.

Also, I am disappointed that none of these figures come with optional classic outfits. I definitely would have paid more for an "S++" Leon with the shoulder pad look.

I agree with ya pal, RE2re made Claire look like shit, what bothers me more is her outfit wasn't something you could even find in the 90s, that's strictly a late oughts early 10's outfit. I get they couldn't do short shorts given the rain, but something closer to code veronica X would've been better. Maybe even have the crop top under the jacket? I dunno why they went with this, they even fucked up the classic outfit.

New to 1/6th figures are ya? They generally don't do extra outfits because you can sell that as a whole different figure. Only company that I know that includes extra clothes are deluxe versions of SOME characters from SOME companies, and Limtoys 3rd party stuff because it's not technically legal and they might not be able to do another run.
That being said, a classic 3rd party outfit, or an official "classic outfit" Leon is a given. It's basically free money with minimal new work needed.

Not really new to 1/6, I've been in it for years, but I admit I don't venture much outside of the few brands I love. I guess my mindset was that it would be extremely unlikely to get "true" classic RE2 figures at this point, so throwing us a bone with an alt outfit was the best I could hope for. Heck, I don't even know if REmake classic outfits would even sell well if made as separate figures, I gather a lot of people were not happy with the changes they made. I know for sure that I, like you, was disappointed in Claire's decidedly un-90s look.

I think RE2re was a huge improvement over the original while keeping in the same spirit, my major gripes being Ada's character and Claire looking weird and out of place. That being said Leon sells like hot cakes, especially re2 and re4 leon, re6 sold okay but nobody likes 6 so that should sell you on him.

So if RE2:re Leon sells exceptionally, then for sure we'll get his remake costuem like we did with HOT TOYS. If not somebody will definitely make his costume as a bootleg set, so either way you'll win out. I'm just a huge fan of how they handled Leon in RE2re and think they made the riot gear make sense while updating Leon perfectly. So his new figure is perfect.

Claire I have no interest in however, but I'm hoping the Hunk rumors are true.

Have you fucked with the asmus DMC stuff?

IMO this is still better, Virtual Toys is much bigger and better than LIM, their recent Sekiro figure can easily compete with almost anything Hot Toys has put out and tbf looking at LIM's Arthur the paint looks bland and unfinished, the beard is too light as well. What makes the Virtual figure better for me is you get two in one, Arthur and John, so you can easily kitbash one or the other using the extra accessories, LIM will probably charge close to $250 for their John and you'll have to wait another 2 years for it while Virtual will release their figure in January or February.

Release dates are one thing but for quality I can't see how people prefer the Virtual Toys/ The only thing I can think is that you already pre-ordered it or something. There's no comparison, especially with their "John" which, while a cute accessory, doesn't work as an actual Marston figure. LIM's looks straight from the game.

As far as the paint goes, LIM said the final heads will have some printed aspects. We'll see. I think it's looks great as is, but maybe that'll touch up the mid level beard? I think the quality is fine but arthur's mid level beard was almost black, where this seems blonde

To be fair we haven't seem anything of LIM's John except that picture of his eyes, I can't really say if theirs is straight out of the game or not, I am worried they will give him the same hair as Arthur which is another reason to go for Virtual but I have to admit LIM's Arthur is a bit better, still not a perfect match to the character in the actual game. I don't know why no one has thought about using the character data from the game itself, you would only have to 3d print the figure.

The only part of the paint I'm not keen on is the beard, just because it doesn't look like it has any. The fully bearded sculpt looks better. Also I have to say I couldn't think of an Arthur looking any better, it looks hottoys quality. Probably will look better in hand, only downside is they're taking a million fuckin years

Virtual Toys has more expirience and better quality control from my expirience, looking up LIM's work they have only made a few Metal Gear figures in the past and one in 6 inches, I have been skeptical of LIM's Arthur Morgan since it was on sale because it seems they want to bite off more than they can chew with the magnetized hair and the smaller accessories, there is also the lingering worry about those horrible knock-off bodies these off-brands use.

I do agree the sculpt is better than the one from Virtual Toys but the paint is too bland in my opinion, the beard is almost invisible as you said and the hair looks too dark, hopefully it is something they can fix, I forgot to mention I still haven't purchased either figure, I am waiting for some reviews but I'm leaning torwards Virtual at the moment, they have never disappointed me and they seem to care about what they do, LIM's looks rushed and not as detailed as I had anticipated.

Lim's proven they can deliver outstanding headsculpt's with solid quality control by their PS4 Spidey head. I think their old Venom isn't nearly as good as the stuff theyre doing nowadays, both their Arthur and their Connor from Detroit Become Human look fantastic. I really think they're going to become a titan on 1/6 if they could just release figures on a more timely basis.

For whatever reason that's a common problem for 1/6. Maybe the metallic kind of material they use is harder to make look good in a blonde-ish color? Hottoys is pretty bad about that. They made Obi Wan Kenobi a brunette, which was a shame because the sculpt was damn fine otherwise. A repainted beard and some grey in the temples is really all that sculpt needs

I haven't purchased that head and certainly won't now that they have changed the face for the next game, again the sculpt looks ok, maybe a little soft but the paint looks too bland, the eyebrows just look like blotches of paint and the eyes appear to be just a shade of brown, maybe it looks better in hand.

Speaking of Virtualtoys, has anyone here seen their Cloud? That one looks like a winner. Between that in their Lillipop chainsaw they seem to be real good at more stylized stuff, I'd love to see them do more of that in the future.

Well there's certainly a customizer who can do it if you're willing to pay 300+ for the outfit, the issue would be the sheild, sword, boots, gloves, and head.

As far as a vidya gayme wishlist for figures, I would absolutely love to get the COD Zombies crew in 1/6 scale, preferably their Origins outfit. Considering things like display base dioramas and accessories those would probably be some super fun figures

His display base could be the temple of time with like part of a stone wall and a stained glass window or something. Plus all the OOT accessories, golden skultullas, bow and arrow, mirror shield. This. I prefer the stylized characters in the artwork for the original - they had, dare I say, "soul". When you go full realism you lose a lot of the artists touch. Final Fantasy lends itself better to pure artistic artstyle. Leave the realism to Kojima.

I doubt it, they had a prototype mocked up, and they've sold 1/6th scale batmobiles and other giant nonsense. The whales are there, so much so a man is making a custom limited run of his custom Vultures which I wish I had the cash for. Might be Keaton's likeness rights or something similarly stupid, keep in mind Mysterio might not even have a Jake Jellyhall headsculpt still.

They're complacent and they are known as THE PREMIUM TOYLINE, other companies are beating them now, so it'll take them loosing licensing deals to get them to take their heads out of their asses, but good luck for that happening. That said I was pleased with their Spidermen as of late, and some of their other offerings, I still get freaked out by pleather goods though, I wish they'd stop this shit in this scale. Or use actual leather somehow.

Jango FINALLY went up for pre-order. It's been 2 long years, and it looks like it's going to be another 2 long years before it's finally in our hands. They changed the unmasked headsculpt again, it's looking great, maybe the skin tone is a little too light though. Also I think this is Hottoys best sculpt for a mando bucket so far, looks way better than even the ESB Boba, the shortened rangefinder really helps.

Boots are gonna be modified to closer resemble what he uses. Gauntlets were just a test to see if I could re-use them but they are way too big for his body. These closed fists don't look too bad but any other of the Deadpool hands look very disproportionate. The bagginess doesn't look too bad as it is right now but once I put on the elbow/knee sleeves and the elbow/kneepads it didn't look very good. Just gonna take some time, still don't even have a head for him yet.

Overwatch WAS popular and blizzard killed it be being the seedy shitheads they usually are, I'd still love a Reaper or McCree in 1/6th scale, but I don't want to give those schiesters a single red cent.

That being said DOOM is insanely popular, it's sold copies in the millions so it's at least as popular as Devil May Cry, I think the issue is the audience for it might not want to buy figures, but then DESTINY 2 got figures and that game is a smoking ball of shit.

Update on the X-Men revealed. Gambit's pants look kinda cheap, but Cyke and Wolvie look phenomenal.

I have head Gambit has some alternate hairpiece not shown, but nobody knows if they're going to be adjusting the ears, which look comical in a bad way.

This is my favorite Wolverine suit of all time. Heck, maybe one of my favorite superhero suits of all time. So maybe it's just my picky ass talking, but I feel like it's so easy for people to get wrong. This one is close, I don't have too many complaints, but I think the blue is overly dark, and the yellow could stand to be a more "cheddar cheese"-ish yellow ochre.

There's also something here that's not so easy to put into words...it looks a little stiff or goofy or something. That might just be down to such a clearly comic-y design being rendered in such a realistic style, as the other 3 kinda share this trait. I sorta wish some 1/6 company would make very well-crafted, but obviously very cartoonishly-styled figures...like old Medicom RAH, but better quality. I'm pretty tired of the "gritty realism" angle.

They still do, but with less accessories and less exciting properties. Effeminate males with no direction will often fill that hole with MCU trash, so they have an unlimited bank account just by reprinting Ironmen, and now Star Wars, well except the new trilogy stuff, that still doesn't really sell.

Not that I'm complaining, hot toys prices are inflated, and other companies are beating them out in quality with properties I actually like. I might still drop a preorder here or there, but 90% of their releases are trash.

I have that figure and it's such a weird one. I would say well executed, but the design is so shit. The headsculpt is good, but for whatever reason he's unseasonably tan. Very strange, but I'm happy to have a 1/6 Punisher on my shelf.

UPDATE

Ok so my friend has a 3D printer and im going to be printing the Plasma Rifle Parts, The chest and shoulder armor and helmet again.

What i will be doing this time though is i will be making a silicon mold out of the pieces and then i will be casting them out of resin so i will have a full proof way of manufacturing them over and over again.

I will give another update on whether this works or not

Well being that theyre arent bodies out there that are not as muscular or defined like the m34 or m35 phicen thats personally what i stuck with at the time. That is until i found the world box durable muscle body. Its super bulky but articulstion to holding weapons is limited from what i see as 90 degree elbows. I guess if anything the newer hot toys terminator bodies can work as theyre elbow joints are far greater is articulation.

What's out is out, if you want Lady get her now, she's not very popular, and her skin is like silicon so you'll need a lint roller. She also can't hold her Matilda and her boots restrict movement. good outside of that though.

If you're stil here anon, there's a way to make it out of plastidip. It involves sculpting the piece on a similar body, making a mold around that, and then either filling it, or thickly coating the inside of the mold with the dip and carefully extracting it, I used to have the image for this in my folders from the customs threads.

It's a 1/6 21 century toys body + custom zombie statue, both with different custom clothes. Zombie back has a metal pin and herb vase, zombie chest and Hunk's boots are magnetized with big magnets, just to make the ballance better. I wanted to make a more dynamic pose, like a statue, because I'm not a big fan of static poses - magnets help a lot.

It looks like a pretty dim dark red in this shot on the side that's not lit by red light, which is unfortunate. At least imo, Hunk's lenses should be very bright, almost cartoonishly red. They should be instantly recognizable. Without them, he just looks like a generic SWAT guy, and my interest disappears.

Hunk's old red lights are lame, stereotyped. Remake version made black lens with a small red light in different red shades. More realistic.

However, I think the old small sand/green straps were better, low profile, than this big bright yellow vest. To be honest, I prefer a mix of 2018 RE2r lens, 2013 O.R.C gear and Mercenaries weapony. It's an easy character to make a kitbash.

About the appearence, it's more based from 1980's S.A.S config than SWAT. Lazy Capcom just painted the eyes.

Saw similar sentiments elsewhere, they're basically banking on people's impatience and the hope that Damtoys doesn't make a Hunk themselves, which, if Leon sells well, which he should, a Claire and a Hunk is all but guaranteed.

Kinda makes me want to just let him go and hope for a better version. This one looks great, but something is off about him in a way I can't place, besides the mask being off.

Not really, Ace toy's Power rangers were 100$ a pop, Three Zero toys is constantly putting out good shit for about 150$. The only people who were really doing lower prices were bootleggers and indie guys that could afford it. The businesses are definitely in relative collusion to keep prices high because it benefits everybody, but truthfully they can do better.

I think it also varies on the detail of teh figure and what it comes with too, liek the Cloud that comes with the fucking Hardy Daytona is only like 350$ shipped which is nuts considering he's a full figure with a nice bike and multiple accessories.

I cut my teeth on 1/6th with 3A and old military figures, both of which had comparable articulation to mls at the time or at least good enough articulation to hit great ROM sweet spots. Three Zero, Asmus, 3a(presumably underverse now), 3rd party figures, and basically anybody not in a leather suit has nice articulation. The bricks are more of a hot toys thing, especially since most collectors of the lines tend to just leave them in a "meuseum pose" AKA standing up arm straight no posing.

I am a firm believer in what Ash preached, toys oughta be played with , or be able to be played with.

Looking closer, I think they cheated a little.. I think his leg is pointing straight out to the left, and they just awkwardly turned his foot around 90 degrees in an impossible fashion. I think that might also be why his left arm just so happens to be hiding most of that.

Basically, if that arm wasn't there, I think it would look like he badly twisted/broke his ankle.

I have mine and it's still fine after all these years. The coat is made out of some weird synthetic plastick-y material. It's inaccurate but by not being pleather/fake leather it actually held up better overall.

That said, the shirt on mine is still fine though.

Yeah, especially the wrist area. I now roll up the coat's sleeve a bit to not apply pressure to the sleeve itself while changing the hands, because that seems to have cause the problem in the first place.

Though, I see some flaking too on the right sleeve, at the bend inside the elbow. I guess just moving it at all is risky

Looking it up, I have a feeling that the flaking is more over caused by oils sticking and warping the print material over time. So yeah, I guess it just helps that I usually pose the guy once every 3-4 months and just leave him in the display but it sucks when it comes to regular handling.

Yeah, mine's not flaked but the shitty rubber shirt has rubed off on the body leaving marks. I really wish somebody would make repro clothes for him without the rubber and stamped shit. I had STARS Wesker too, but he was inaccurate enough to bother me so I sold him.

I really like both but there is something about the Midnight version, it's great.
The way I found to make it look decent at least is straight up remove the rubber layer off the shirt, it's not accurate but the shirt was never accurate to begin with. I don't know why they made it of a different material

You can just remove it carefully with the fingers, like start peeling it off from a part of the shirt that is already peeling and I suggest taking your time if you're going to do it. It takes patience but it's easier than it looks

And yeah I'd definitely love to replace this outfit with a newer version, and I really want HCF Wesker, I hope SWToys makes that eventually

The only one I really know of is Hot Toys Anakin's arm from ROTS. It's pretty fucking cool, fully articulated fingers and a great sculpt. Best of all, it ends in a standard Hot Toys arm peg, so it swaps real easy. It's unfortunately also pretty pricey for just an arm, I typically see it go for $40-60. If you go looking for it, make sure you buy the correct one--the figure came with two swappable right arms, and the other one is permanently clutching a lightsaber handle and contains the LED feature.
