Found the Mags and Professor 2 pack at Target today. They also had DP and NSTW but I got that in the mail yesterday, and Logan and Mystique. Logan looks a lot worse than the Amazon version imo. Anyone elses Magenta have incredibly tight shoulder hinges? I can rotate them fine but I can't move them outward. I can get the left one going with force but the right one is pretty stuck. I'll probably try heating it to get it for g and then apply some shock oil. That may help.

Also the Ian McKellen head looks super weird on the buff body lol.

The alternate heads are weird since neither of them can actually be an accurate McKellen or Stewart version of the characters. Magneto's got the wrong outfit altogether and while Xavier's outfit works, they gave him a regular wheelchair rather than the fancy motorized one Stewart had. Did ToyBiz not give them the mold for that wheelchair or something?

Either way I feel like the set would be more popular if it was just the McKellen and Stewart versions, rather than making the DOFP versions with alternate heads.

Or just make separate releases, y'know one 2-pack for DOFP, and another one based on the first movie. A lot of people actually wanted figures of young Magneto and Xavier for a while now (myself included).

To anyone with the recent Warpath, do both of his shoulderpads have a Z marking inside of them? I think I got one with two left shoulderpads, mostly because only one fits correctly at a time and in most pictures I've seen, it has both tassles long in the front and short in the back, but for mine it's one of each.

It was confusing because the shoulder pads I have seem to be the same mold but just bent differently. It's also a pain in the ass because I got sent the wrong figure twice already when trying to order this guy in the first place.

Thanks. In looking closer, mine having the weird Z stamps distracted me from initially noticing the faint lettering that says L1 and L2. Which creates more questions than answers.

It’s not very up to date, I was waiting until after Pulsecon to finish it, which is when I added the second Gamerverse wave, the stilt man wave, and the bad guys wave. And then the retro black cat got revealed, so I added that. Then the black order 5 pack got revealed too so now I have to go back and add that. But once I do, it’ll be good to go.

I found the Charles and Mags sets along with a whole shitload of the FoX-Men stuff at Target today.

No, it's first come first serve so if that person didn't have money at the time then too bad. If he was saving it for someone, he should've bought it and had that person pay him back. Or whatever his reasons, he should've done a better job of stashing it.

Either way, if you find someone's stashed toys they're up for grabs, there's nothing wrong with buying it yourself or just moving it back to where it's supposed to be so someone else can get it.

Got my Storm/ Thunderbird today and honestly had my best retail experience ever. The stocker got it for me out of the backroom with no drama and without judgement (to my face). Brought it up to the register and the cashier was also a collector. Had a little conversation and he told me the beer I was getting was good too. I gotta say nice blog post 10/10 day.

love the way the lighting highlights all the detail in the sculpt, making them actually look like the actors. The normal photos don't do the sculpts justice and i didn't think they did them right until your photo.

I don't usually collect Marvel but I had a set of each of the MCU Avengers a few years back in the 3.75 and thought they were great. I was wondering if they've continued the line to include newer characters (like Vision, onwards)?

They stopped doing that scale around Ironman 3 IIRC. Then they did a few as 5-PoA during Age of Ultron. Antman had an articulated one in a set with a giant ant. Civil War had a Captain America + bike set and also a Falcon set, plus a TRU exclusive Black Panther + Agent 13 2-pack. They later did one-off 2-packs for Spiderman Homecoming, Thor:Ragnarok and Dr Strange.

I stopped following Hasbro Marvel and 3.75" scale in general around then so idk about that after.

Back when Toybiz Deadpool was going for insane prices, I got him for about $23.
Not Marvel but I also managed to get the super articulated anniversary spawn for $20. The comicshop was originally trying to sell him as a bundle with Shadowhawk but I got to convince the owner to let me purchase just the Spawn.

In terms of “most per shelf”, it’s MCU wasp. Closely followed by Gwenpool, but she was double packed.

In terms of “most time spent on shelves”, Lady Beetle for sure. She’s still around but she came out in 2016.

The fact that they chose this design for Devil Hulk is interesting. I'm curious what it'll mean if anything for Hulk going forward (like is it a form he'll be able to assume? and if it does will its power level remain at 'one-shotting Thor and giving him a concussion' levels, because that's a bit overboard). Its motivations are also quite odd, especially based on its actions. But ya, this as a figure could be real cool. It'd be interesting for Marvel Select to give it a go, but given that it is only Hulk in name (and story), I doubt they'd be interested.

It was expensive as fuck because that entire wave was SUPER SUPER under ordered.

The first 3-4 waves of Marvel Legends sold badly, so the wave with Deadpool, Phoenix, Thomas Jane Punisher, Juggernaut, and Cable was SUPER fucking under-ordered.

Same with the wave that followed it with Johnny Blaze, Silver Centurian Iron Man, Hawkeye, Apocalypse, and Vision.

The waves were so fucking rare and impossible to find, that not only did Toy Biz have to rush out an emergency "Best of..." wave to get most of the figures into fans hands via Walmart, but had to launch the Build A Figure initiative to salvage the line in general and get stores to keep ordering the figures.

But the Deadpool figure was omitted from the Wal-Mart "best of" wave, adding to it being super expensive on the secondary market

Yeah It was crazy. I almost didn't even bother because they were on a low shelf and had small price tags on them, $20 each for Galactus and Apocalypse and $25 for the Sentinel. At first thought they were originally $200, $200, and $250, but once I had them in hand I couldn't believe it.

Cap's costume is still used contemporarily.
Iron Man's has a lot of nostalgia, but not only has it been replaced by multiple newer "cooler" designs, but I think Iron Man armors are a much more unique subjective choice, and people just might not like the classic armor used for the 80th anniversary fig.
I think to a lesser degree, you could say that about Thor as well. His original costume is outdated, and personally I'm just not a fan of it. There have been a couple of great alternative looks that he's had just within the past decade.
Additionally, I find myself trying to find a good priced one of his Heroic Age armor, or his look from the beginning of Jason Aaron's run with him. That said, part of me wants to wait to see if/when we're going to get a figure of his current look.

Yeah, it sucked trying to get him. He got delayed for online orders and I ended up finding him in store at Walmart, as I’ve had to for all Walmart exclusives, and I anticipate doing again for the Venomized Cap.
At any rate, they made a new chest piece and some other parts for this guy. I’m sure we’ll see a more classic light blue variant at some point. Same for Iron Man and having true red and yellow instead of the crimson and gold he has.

I don't have Peter Parker so I don't know how well the skin tone will match, but possibly try Allfather wave Iron Fist, he's pretty much the go-to figure for fleshy alt hands. You'll probably have to clip down the pegs since they're longer than most wrist pegs are now, but otherwise you should be good as long as the skintone's close enough

Got a White Widow on clearance.

The head looks good on my old Black Widow, but it's only snuggly sitting on the neck peg.

The heads from the old Black Widow fit on the White Widow neck peg, but the neck looks too long.

The only fists for the Reaper body came with the 80th Cap, and they’re red. No idea why they didn’t reuse them since they finally shelled out the money for them.

I think the only critique I've read is that the pupils are too big. Other than that it looks like a stellar sculpt and paint job.

At this point I'm tempted to pick up the whole retro spidey wave other than Armored Daredevil which I have zero context for.

I'm not overly attached to the armor and it's weird he's still missing butterfly joints but it's a genuine improvement over their previous Daredevil figures even if it's not a proper classic look. I'd recommend him if only because he's fun to mess around with. Hope we get this body for Matt from here on out

If you get some paint, like Midlund Flesh and some black and white, you can pretty well match skin tones. So, you have choices.
