I've been feeling this way about 5POA stuff lately.
I love my articulated figures but there is a nice, almost comfy, simplicity to these kinda things.
It help you remember that what's fun isn't determined by how high the price tag is.

Really depends on what kind of 5POA if I wanted to collect them. Old vintage Star Wars style is pretty boring while stuff like He-Man and TMNT at least try to make things a little different.

I can't think of a better toy line in terms of value+playability than the MOTU Origins line. Budget priced at $15 with FAR more articulation than anything priced similarly. Tons of accessories and just plain fun to display.

Not to mention that Mattel is planning a wide variety of characters, vehicles and even a playset (also budget priced at $70).

The only hurdle is Mattel being shit at distribution.

I'd agree if you meant quirky gachas but honestly my marvel legends aren't beating my 1000toys synthetic human or damtoys 1/12 SAS dudes for fun factor and I don't have to worry about them breaking either. Bargain bin kinnikuman shf is another step further that's yet harder for cheap toys to beat for this function you're claiming.
