Yeah you're right, Ziggy is 100% going to happen. It's just a question of whether he comes with Fulgur bug effects or not. I'm curious as to how autistic they'll be with scale. Jho for instance would be very popular, but he'd be enormous, almost prohibitively so, if scaled to the current flying wyverns. Don't even get me started on fuckers like Fatty or Shara.

Y-MSF is doing another run of them since Tempting Toys couldn't do a US release due to corona. Both the normal and metallic versions are getting re-released, plus a new variant of both with a damaged eye. Keep an eye on his social media accounts for when he opens the orders.

Honestly I'm kind of tempted to buy the metallic version since that was the one I wanted originally.

I ordered mine today, they don’t say it but it really looks like clear vinyl and if it is it’s going to be the best looking 25cm 2019 out of all of them, if it ends up not being clear vinyl I’ll probably just sell it tho since I also have too many 2019s

Does anyone have experience using figures for stop-motion? I picked up a couple of the NECA Godzillas on a whim at Target to do some stop-motion experiments with, and while it's been fun the limitations have been pretty apparent, especially in the leg mobility. I've been thinking of getting another Godzilla and Gamera figure, and from what I'm seeing MonsterArts and Revoltech are the most popular choices. Any suggestions as far as poseability goes?

The only NECA godzilla i'd recomend for stop motion is the 1954 one or the 2014 one. But I'd highly advise you get a Monsterarts if you're looking for poseability for other monsters.

Not all of them, at least not in my experience. Again, the 2014, 1954, and maybe the 1994 one pose well enough, but for stop motion, monsterarts is better not only for their poseability, but for varying dynamic movements. I still wish NECA made Godzilla figs, though. They were pretty good.

9Modelism's seemingly done with the sculpting part of his upcoming 98 movie version figure, he just posted these early this morning.

Thanks for the recommendations, I think I'm gonna do a little research before I pick out a MonsterArts Goji and Gamera, will report back whenever I've got animation to show.

The two that I picked up were KingGoji and BioGoji and of the two, the KingGoji definitely has better leg mobility for actually animating walking. BioGoji's legs bend outwards rather than forwards and the joints on mine are very stiff in general, one of his knees was actually installed backwards and I had to twist it back in place.

I think his Kong looked fine for being his first figure, for being hand-sculpted and for being a custom figure. I've seen far far worse.

He's learned a lot since then and this guy and the animated version are both digital sculpts which are gonna look a lot better anyways

For what it's worth I did soak the messed up leg in warm water and the knee now bends whereas it didn't budge at all before, but yeah the general design isn't very well suited for animation. I'll do a few tests with this one and see how far I can push it before investing in something more sophisticated.

The legs should work alright for stop motion once you get them moving properly, just don't expect them to do too much more than what we saw in 1989/1991. However, the rest of the figure, in particular the tail, is great for stop motion.

See the thing about these figures is that if you want to give them an actual realistic walking animation, you're gonna wanna rig some wire or line to hold them up. This way, you can get the fluid motions of the legs lifting up off the ground and all the bends at the knee and other shit you would need.

I feel you on that one. It is probably my favorite Neca right next to 62, but the face is off. I think it's the eyes. When I picture the MosuGoji I imagine his eyes almost rolled up entirely while he stands straight and looks down on everything.
I think the Neca's eyes are too straight, with the pupils coming from the sides instead of the top of his eyes.

But if you pretend it's the Goji from Ghidorah instead (same suit different head) it fits a lot better.

It is an episodic anime I am pretty sure. I am guessing it will be similar to the Godzilla cartoon with monsters showing up each episode and Godzilla having to intervene, or maybe Godzilla is just as much of a threat? I was extremely assmad, but a fee second with a Gundam marker has made it look much better. Still, I'm gonna get a replacement and then send whichever one looks worse back. It's a shame, because I've seen a lot of reviews with this guy having pieces fall off, and he's rock solid otherwise. The only thing is, the Gundam marker is much glossier than the actual paint. Makes going look like he had cataract surgery

The '54 is still in stock at BBTS. It's the best articulated Godzilla in the line by far. Not sure about the joint tolerances on this reissue, but on the original they were perfect on mine. The only bad parts about the figure are the lack of accessories, a somewhat janky head sculpt and the whole luck-of-the-draw shebang with the eyes.

My 2 favorite Godzilla figures hands down are the SHMA 1954, and the NECA 1964. Both still going for MSRP. I highly recommend either of those.

Really good figure! You shouldn't have any issues with articulation there, maybe have to heat up the knees, but that's all.

And you'd be surprised how often you have to heat up SHMA joints, I've had some fucking majorly stuck joints on a lot of the recent figures. Weirdly, on those KOTM repaints and blue molded figures. Burning Godzilla was a pain too.

Any NECA Godzilla will be the same. Once you do heat it up that mold actually has surprisingly decent articulation. Shame about the paint, though. And no, they didn't fix it, the newer batches are still terrible.

My area's been weird with them. Is it just Godzilla and Kong? I've still been cucked out of a Skull Crawler. I guess if there's enough demand for these in general, there's a better chance of them getting a wider release. Haven't had so much trouble finding a "normal" toy since the Jurassic World Spinosaurus that Mattel seemed hellbent on making scalper exclusive for some reason.

Wow anon, that really stinks. I bought one Monsterarts and that was the 2002 Godzilla (I think that's the one in your pic). I got the derpy eyes too. It's sitting in a box right now waiting to be sold at some point. It's ridiculous to pay that price point and get derpy eyes with such minimal paint application. I've bought figures 1/6th it's size with better paint application, so I know it's not a matter of paint area size. Also its arm came off immediately outside the package. My last Monsterarts. Stinks, I want to like the line.

This is why I buy Neca and ignore Monsterarts almost entirely. I can paint it, repair it, do whatever I want to make it perfect and it doesn't feel bad. But buying a Monsterarts and it's just as flawed as the Neca anyway? Yeah right.

Yes, they're first batch of godzillas were pretty ass, but their later ones are great.

I personally think their 1964 is their best, and it's probably my favorite godzilla figure period.

I think 64 is great but not great as a 64. The sculpting and proportions feel a bit off. The SHMA feels right to me in that regard. I have both figures and compared them to the movie and stills and the SHMA feels right but the NECA is lacking in accuracy. But I like a bit of stylization like in the iconic Sakai sculpt but the NECA does not appeal to me
