In addition i'd hardly call gaogaigar specifically derivative of either gundam or transformers, as neither has a combiner similar. Rather it is derivative of other cliches in the super robot genre such as back wings, lion chests, rocket hands, trains and of course drills. No transformer has all or even half of these. The only part resembling a gundam is the fin, but most super robots have the fin anyway.
The braves themselves do resemble transformers, however characters like volfogg seem to be very original interpretations of TF's that were carbots. Being a ninja protector, guardian angle figure was very unique, and big volfogg resembles nothing else in TF.
Mic sounders resembles nothing i can think of in the super robot genre, and having living weapons like the golion hammer is an interesting idea, TF would later copy.
Finally king j der is very unique, and to compare this to anything would be disingenuous.
It seems like you are someone who has never watched any brave series, or even any super robot series. Let me just remind you pretty much all of armada was based on changes to the formula from the brave series.
