Okok, I think the thread was more general than that, especially with the title, but interpreted that way then that's fair. I'm not sure if anyone is including the Hot Toys and the like as well if it's just a battle of the Robocops.

Indeed. I wonder how the MK license McFarlane is currently working with affects the guest characters. I assume they're still off limits unless those individual licenses were granted as well, but it'd be neat to get McFarlane figures of Rambo, Terminator, and Robocop that way.

There's a difference between "Not AY Revo-tier super poseable" and "Considerably less poseable than the actual suit". I had NECA Robocop (the Mega Drive flamethrower one) and he was a piece of junk that couldn't hold his flamethrower and couldn't even stand up in the few poses he could achieve.

Can't go wrong with either but McFarlane Robocop is still my favorite.

Haven't tried the Mafex on for size but I don't doubt its the superior version. I just don't want to drop $70 on yet another Robocop. I own 4 or 5 already.

You're kind of right AND wrong. It's more like when Mafex is good, they're REALLY good, but when they're bad, it's totally fucking terrible. That, and their quality doesn't proceed along a linear scale--they'll make something amazing and then their next figure will be a backslide like they didn't learn anything from the previous one.

Mafex Robocop 2 is the best imo.

I had the original McFarlane from back in the day and it was an amazing figure, but it’s hip joints are so fragile.

The best NECA Robocop is the Robocop 2 blue one with the Jetpack, cobra assault rifle and spring leg holster

My favorite three are the Mafex ones (honestly, all three are the same, I prefer the one that comes with the drugs and brain), the original McFarlane and the spring holster NECA. The toy/action figure world have been kind to Robocop I think. There really aren’t any BAD figures. I’m even really fond of the old Kenner cap shooting ones I had as a kid.

Yeah but the original realease wasn’t a Robocop 3. It was called “Deluxe Robop” and it had,

- Cobra Assault rifle (from the first film)
- blue/purple deco (from the second film)
- jet pack and machine gun arm (from the third film)

Later rereleases called it “Robocop 3” though.

The McFarlane one is oddly good for its age.
The Neca one is a good solid figure with comparable articulation.

Really the only reason NECA wins for me is that I have a figure that's almost entirely the same as the McFarlane one, but its got cooler accessories.
