Rebooted in 2006. It was good for what it was, but collectors didn’t like that they no longer resembled keshi.

last year i saw a guy selling all kinds of retro things and he had 2 shoeboxes filled with tiny figures. i got some MimP stuff.

Does someone know how modern MUSCLE toys work? Like they're originally based on Kinnikuman japanese toys. Is it still through that company, is it licensed? I'd love to know.

The name MUSCLE is owned by Mattel. they licensed the Kinnikuman designs for the original line, but they own the MUSCLE name, so they can use it for whatever, such as the Street Sharks MUSCLE, because they own Street Sharks as well.
There was also the period of time that they licensed the MUSCLE name to super7

In the very early 80s when I was still practically a fetus I acquired some of these Diener figures somehow. I guess they were still being sold in stores despite being more of a 70s toy? Who knows. I just remember that they were awesome and some were even terrifying. The medusa/gorgon one was so fucking freaky to me as a 4 year old that I chucked it across the room and it disappeared behind the radiator forever. I was able to find two of these in an old chest of childhood toys, recently; a brown veiny headed alien and some brown winged condor man. I'd love to collect more but they're so rare and expensive.

Are there alternate names or things to search to find these kind of figures? Searching Keshi just brings up a ton of art toys or high priced stuff on ebay, or blind boxes from super 7. But I know that these things are made by other places as well, like S.L.U.G. by Jakks.

My nitpick with keshi in general, across every line, is that some colors are really bad at bringing out the sculpt. But having a colorful collection is part of the appeal and all flesh colored would be boring

More manufacturers need to add a color wash over the figure. it should be something that's incredibly simple to do because it requires no artistic talent or even much skill you just have to slather on a wash.

That's why I loved Monster In My Pocket more than MUSCLE, variety of colors make them more interesting. Flesh just makes them all look like they are naked with unpainted clothes.

i have mine inside capsules in a metal 20 inch gumball machine on my desk. i have the gumball machine set to free vend. when i get stressed, i vend one or two capsules, open em up, and then the keshi figures hang out on my desk for a while. eventually i'll put them back in the capsules and back inside the machine.

MIMP series 1 - Complete (working on color variants of each figure)
MIMP series 2 - Missing 1 figure
MIMP Super Scary, Bugs - Missing a lot
MIMP Dinosaurs - Missing 1 figure
MIMP Monster Ninjas - Missing the mailaway and some weapons

Trash Bag series 1 - Missing 4 figures
Trash Bag series 2 - Missing a lot

Miniboglins - Missing a lot due to all the exclusives

I think that's it. I gave all my Gormiti away to kids who appreciated them to avoid getting stuck in that hole, and I don't care for MUSCLE or any of that custom stuff.

How I display - just a standard shelf with glass door

Actually I probably would be into the custom artist stuff if it was easier to get. I don't like signing up for some guy's Instagram just to be able to buy a run of something, or use Etsy.

What modeling software did you use? Are you 3D printing it? If so, what method of printing are you using? I'd like to see the end product! I have lots of ideas for keshigomu lines, and have sketched out views on what they'd look like. Just need to get my hands on the tools to do so.

I use zbrush and a creality 3d printer. I should have a clean resin cast of this some time this week, as I had to buy tin-cure silicone rather than the platinum-cure I already had. I'll try to post it once I get a good cast! I have another with a knife rather than a laser gun too. Hoping to sell these some day soon through instagram or etsy.
