Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM), which is the filament style printing pretty much definitionally will have some degree of layer lines, limited by the actual diameter of said filament itself.
Stereolithography (SLA), on the other hand is only limited by pixel density/resolution of the light used to cure its resin. Though there also are a bunch of other pros and cons to that type of printing.
If you’re determined enough, after sanding and finishing the 3D printed part, you can even use it to create a master mold for making poured resin copies of them. (Not really possible for some unusual geometries/topologies, which 3D printing can achieve though.)
