Nope, never have and seemingly never will. They use a mostly made-to-order system which seems to be working well for them. They usually drop like four waves a year at least and have already done three full waves of re-issue figures. If you want these guys the best time to do so is during the first pre-orders, as you're certain to get the figures you want, it'll just take a while.

This usually takes 6 months to well over a year.

Once all the preorders have been filled they hold a stock sale at one of their websites for the same price as the preorders.

If you miss out an either of those two, you gotta pay markups at BBTS and a few other sites that carry them.

There's going to be a new wave revealed next month that will probably go up for preorder, too.

I'd guess we'll see the next stock sale late spring to early summer next year for the Arethyr and All Stars 3 waves; and the skull horse.

They've been promising the basic legion builders to always be in stock for some time now. Due to the wu flu I'd say realistically we wouldn't see that until next summer at the earliest.

First time ML buyer. Got my girls in today, as well as wings for both. Love them. Kinda wish I’d just gotten the Knight Builder, and really wish I’d been able to get a dwarf or goblin builder too, or a skeleton...but ah well.

Kinda disappointed in the wings. They look great, but they’re so freaking heavy that the figures become the accessory.

Whoever recommended that I should get Knubnik instead of the goblin legion builder last year, you were right, he really is great in hand.

Unlike on Thumpp, the dirt and rust detailing is evenly applied and gradual across the figure, and the overall metallic paint on the armor is subtle, but makes a big difference.

I find it funny that he's meant to be the goblin assassin, and while he comes with a knife, he also comes with a heavy ball mace. Like instead of a stealth kill, he just walks up to someone and beats them about the head with the mace until they stop moving, then hacks at them for a bit with the axe.

As many of you know, often when Four Horsemen Toy Design produces a wave of Mythic Legions action figures, we create a limited number of extra, unpainted figures from the wave that are referred to in the toy industry as "test shots" in order to sell these super limited collectibles to Mythic Legions fans.

Once again, this coming Monday, November 9th beginning at 9:00pm Eastern Standard Time, you're going to get your chance to own a small chunk of Four Horsemen history. A VERY limited amount of each of the items pictured below will be available for purchase through StoreHorsemen.com.

These will be available on a first come, first served basis, and will be strictly limited to a total of two items per person in the first hour of the sale. If any test shots are left after the first hour of sales, beginning at 10:00pm there will be no limits to the number of items purchased.

First and foremost, we wanted to send a very grateful THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the recent Store Horsemen Mythic Legions: Exodus warehouse sale a few weeks ago. If anyone out there hasn't yet received their Store Horsemen Mythic Legions: Exodus order by or on November 9th, 2020, please check you emails and your account to see if there's a tracking number on the order and to see if there's been any movement. If it says that it's still in PRE-SHIPMENT status, please email Chris at [email protected], and he'll look into it for you. Shipping delays once we've shipped the items have become somewhat common recently because of the pandemic, and we apologize for those scenarios, but once they leave our hands, there's unfortunately really nothing we can do to get those to you any faster.

It was a bit of an adjustment using the new store's system, but we think we've gotten most - if not all - of the bugs worked out, and hopefully future sales will go even smoother. Fingers crossed...

Just so everyone's aware, there will be a period of time this coming week - sometime between the Mythic Legions Test Shot Sale on Monday and the launch of the Mythic Legions: Illythia pre-order beginning next Friday - where Store Horsemen will be down for some routine maintenance. We just didn't want anyone to be alarmed by that.

I only have two or three pics of her, and can't really take any new ones right now as all my legions are stored away as I redo my toy room. But I can get some pics next week as they will definitely be taking up at least two of my shelves and she'll be a central figure in the display.

As for how I did her cape, I took a piece of leather lacing, which you can get at any hobby store for cheap, attached some jewelry clasps to it, laced it through the cape in some small holes I made and just wrapped it around in in an 'X' shape. It's fully removable, and you don't even need to fiddle with the clasp (you can just pop off her head) but it stays in place really well. The rest of her belts, as well as knife sheath, and pouch in this pic, were also made from a mix of scrap leather bits and lacing.

The skirt and the sleeve parts both come from the Toy Biz LOTR Rider Arwen figure. The sleeves just kinda pop on the biceps after you remove the elbow armor (and pop out the arms) and the skirt similarly just fits under her faulds and is held in place by her waist peg. The colors from Arwen match Thallyn *really* well and help give her a more wintery armor look. Personally, I wish she wasn't wearing the full plate gear, as a mix of leather and bare limbs would've made her far more unique. But these custom touches alone help her stand out a bit when compared to similarly built figures.

Yes, you are the one I was talking about.

I'm still deciding exactly how I want her load out.
I want her cloak on, but be able to take it off easy, so something like yours set up sounds good.

I want her to wear her quiver, but between her cloak and her hair it being on her back might not be possible. I really like her huge axe, but the handle stretches her hand out. I might put that on her back and the quiver on her hip.

Or maybe I'll just drop the axe, and have the bow and quiver on her back somehow.

I want to use her actual belt somehow. Four Horsemen should really consider giving more figures different colors for that piece.

I've actually been having the same issues with how to stow all her gear. I managed to make a custom sheath for her big knife, but making a strap for the axe, bow and quiver is going to be more difficult. I may just go with some sort of carry hook or something for the axe but the bow/quiver are both really bulky. I like the idea of her being a wanderer/survivalist so being able to carry all her stuff is something I'd really like her to be able to do.

As for the weapons stretching her hands, the 2.0 figures have very malleable fingers and all of her weapons share similar girth so I wouldn't worry too much. Even if the axe stretches her hands, the other weapon grips are just as thick so she can hold em all with no problem.

But with the belt she comes with, the 4H have made that in a variety of colors. In fact her's is much lighter tan then almost any other figure. But that said, I'd much rather the 4H make actual NEW, well detailed belts and straps for these guys. Ones that can hold weapons properly, and not just have them awkwardly dangle through a little flap. A good overlay belt/strap/harness would help add so much to these guys and would add a new layer to their mix and match play style. Also, it would let more figures carry all their gear, and that is ALWAYS a great feature.

The Test Shots were REALLY nice when they were first producing the line, that first set from the original Kickstarter were the first figures to get into people's hands to see how good they really were. I was lucky enough to grab a pair of em and I'll be honest, they're some of my favorite toys in my collection...even though the fully painted figures are honestly much better.

At this point though, it's more "tradition" and fan demand driving these test shot releases then anything else. Some of these guys are SUPER rabid, especially about the Test Shots, so it's something people always request the 4H release. Personally, I'm happy with the two I got now.

Yeah along with whatever new shit they pop out, i want them to release the 1.0 and 2.0 vampires.

The night elves in warcraft 3 had a stone giant that was literally just a more square gray Ben Grimm.

We already have the cats and minotaurs on both sides; I'd like to see the forest guys get some of the monster head sculpts as friendly beasts.

Bog/Helphyre goblin repainted as a tree frog or forest toad.
Boarrior repainted as an elder gray or younger brown speckled boar.

....ya know, I didn't even think of how great a skimpy outfit dark skinned elf would be. Like, I'm not normally huge on the bikini armor look, but on rangers or other lithe characters it can work, and Jjuno is probably one of my favorite females in the line. But pretty much ALL of their female Elves have been wearing full plate armor and it's just...odd. Thallyn specifically should've had the bare thighs painted white to look like tights or something. The random white armor bits on her just look kind of strange (though the chainmail parts are gorgeous).

I'd love both a brown skinned and light skinned female legion builder. Though from what I've been told the bare skin parts require more paint, and that's why the previous orc legion builders cost more than the simple knight figures.

They actually said the exact opposite, the Falconer was planned to have an alt head, but because of all the budgeting the entire wave will be one without any alt heads.

But most figures would come with alt HANDS, which imo is a much better addition. I have tons of extra heads already.

The centaur upper body is new and bigger than usual in order to better match the fuckhuge horse size, but the joints are meant to be 1.0 compatible as well. They might use it with 1.0 legs for beastly guys in the future?

The original Artemyss was always one of those figures who I was on the fence about, because I liked her overall look, but felt the head and wings would throw her off balance. This new one is such a vast improvement and looks so much better. All the new parts are amazing, the soft goods look great, and she even sits at the standard figure price point. I kinda wish her hair was trimmed down a bit as that could affect articulation and balance, but overall she's a vast improvement over her original look.

I wouldn't say they're dropping a new wave soon, but the Arethyr wave IS supposed to finally land sometime this winter. With pic related included, you'll have a chance to grab him then as he's the most basic looking horse they've shown off so far.

Or if you're willing to spend 30-40 bucks for a horse, look up the Toybiz LotR horses, they're a bit smaller, but still work really well for the Legions.

Opinions a few hours after the reveals:

Alder [moose]. Very cool, but not something I particularly want.

Aphareus [centaur]. I think I'm getting it. He looks great, fills a very wanted archetype and it's going to be huge.

Artemiss V2. I initially was uninterested but she's growing up on me and I might end buying her. As the other anon said this seems like a very convenient to own Artemiss with a cool and cute outfit and no unwieldly wings.

Baron Volligar V2. A bit overdone for my taste?

Decebalus [ogre vamp]. Not particularly interested on this. I don't want to end up with many ogres and an ogre vamp is not a great neccessity for me.

Illithia. A few things I'm not really a fan of, so all in all it's a pass. I wish she was thinner, and I generally don't feel the tryhard design, with the skeleton arms, the headdress and all that.

Krotus [wise-looking furry]. I like this guy, but I think I might drop him in favor of others. He fits an interesting role, so it would be a pity to pass.

Lord Bardric [ranger guy]. Good looking, not particularly interested.

Phobus [black horse]. Not a fan of the purple stuff. I'll rather wait for a full black horse legion builder (just like I love the simplicity of the full black fem vamp legion builder over other vamps)

Vallak [falconer]. Very interesting on this guy. Candidate for buying.

The black hand set is very interesting since black gloves can work with pretty much any existing bracers.

I feel like the thing that really sets this wave apart is their focus on nonstandard character types. Waves 1 and 2 were full of knights, barbarians, etc, that the majority start to blend together but this one offers a lot of really unique looking characters, even when they are still using mostly the same sculpts. That said I'm still expecting the actual figures to be a bit mediocre, but thats just based on what i've received from the kickstarters. Still gonna get that moose, centaur, and goat dwarf.

The vampire falconer is lame, because the bird has no joints, can't take the hood off, and doesn't even come off the sleeve.

I love the moose, and really like the centaur, but I don't know if I'd enjoy one of them more than getting more basic figures.

Artemyss is really growing on me. The colors, all the new parts, and the more streamlined antlers really make her look sharp. Wish she had bare thighs, though.

Vargg is my favorite in the wave.

I think I'll skip the preorder, and save up for later. The batman is the only figure I really want, and whether or not I get Artemyss depends on how well they do her head paint on the final retail version.

If I understood it correctly they said that it had a strap sculpted at the base of its claws so that you can put it on the arm of the guy. I'm not exactly sure how that works, but they sounded like getting it firmly attatched was their main concern over other considerations, like it was just a decorative thing to have posed just there.

I think it boils down to two things
1) There's a uniform theme and style within the factions. The whole wave just looks cohesive and if this was your first introduction to the line you'd have access to two fully developed yet uniquely filled factions of figures.

2) All of the figures have unique bodies, heads and headsculpts, on top of some high quality soft goods and an ABSURD level of detailing. The absolutely amazing variety of new parts in this wave make pretty much the entire rest of the collection look boring by comparison.

Yea, that's a big downside imo for that guy, but his look overall is so strong it's hard to pass on him. The only thing that's making me hesitate is the chance there will be a similar figure only in a non-vampire faction...but I am a sucker for all the new parts and that cloak color with the removable hood is just awesome.

Also, the Sheriff on Nottingham ham looking tunic is really nice.

yeah, how I understood it, is that he's basically connected to a tube that goes around the arm of the falconer. And the tube is designed to look seamless with the gloves, but can be taken off. But you can't separate the falcon from the tube

I didn't care for the first one at all, especially since it was based on a fan concept but really missed the mark that made the original idea so good. Making it a vampire was just kind of boring and made him fairly unimpressive. This new one, who I agree is overdesigned (in a good way) looks like an old, overbearing vampire lord who hasn't left his tomb in centuries. Like a doddering old Nosferatu placing orders from on high as the younger generation grows to distrust and disagree with him.

She is indeed Famine, specifically confirmed by the 4H as she, and the rest of the main villains, were designs that predate Mythic Legions as concepts. Her scales are a direct reference to how Famine often carries scales, and the ravenous hunger of the Vampires is their in-universe link to the main trait of the Horseman in question.

Necronominus is Death and Poxxus is Pestilence/Plague, so expect him to have a bow of some sort.

I'm the same way, in a collection of like 50ish figures, I only have one vampire...and I turned her into a Harpy. But this wave is very tempting for me to buy pretty much every character. Illythia is a must have for me, and Volligar is high on my list, but I really have to be picky this time around as I'm pretty broke right now.

Hopefully they extend it for a month or so, cause after X-mas I'll have plenty of cash to spare on stupid stuff!

The gauntlets are removable and iirc they even have a decent looking forearm sculpted underneath so you should be able to use shorter wrist guards or nothing at all and it wouldn't look bad.
The belt is fully removable as well, though hip pieces in this line are ugly (great range) and they're meant to have some sort of belt covering them.

Agreed, Gorgo is a must for 2nd run- especially as his bio and Cornboy have teased a surprise under his helmet for years. Just happy despite most fan votes going towards skeletons, dwarves and barbarians, they still intend to round out all factions, fantasy tropes. Still salty AF last fan vote, we got one demon bro but not the other.

Gorgo definitely needs some love, but I fear it will be a while before he sees his turn for an update. If we're bringing up Power Lords, let's recall that this was before or close to MyL 2.0, which was done on KS. Their sub-brand that they knew would fund, yet they chose to make Power Lords, a line that was going to have 4 main body molds, a preorder on their site. It was very obviously set up to fail, which is unfortunate. It could have easily also gotten a KS, and if they did things as one would have hoped to expect it, like starting with 2 molds, going to unlock everything else, I feel like it would have had a much better chance than some preorder that's all or nothing for 4 body molds, and no updates on progress. I'm not even a 1/18 guy, at least not as my main thing, but that was the line I was most hoping for that year.

4H is too lazy to sell their any toys that they have still have stock of, so if you want to anything that they have released, you need to buy from scalpers on ebay or BBTS.

It's a bit unfair to call BBTS scalpers though, because they made their orders during the the Kickstarters and 4H's preorder's, but since 4H is extremely greedy, they don't give retailers a wholesaler's discount.

Basically, 4H supports the scalpers market by being lazy fucks.

If you don't want to support scalpers, you need to wait until 4H does another preorder and wait about a year to get their new toys. After their new toys are produced, they may open their warehouse to sell remainders again and overstock of new stock.

Also, pic unrelated, my recent pick ups from the last sale, mixed with some other generic army builder figures I recently got. The skeletons are the Storm Collectible Golden Axe two packs and they're ok, but are pretty much just the Revoltech skeletons only bigger. Their joints are ok for now, but I fear over time they may become just as floppy as the revol ones. Some clicky joints in the spines at the very least would have been nice.

Every toy company doesnt need to ask for interest free loans from their fanbase to pay for the production of the toys.

Most companies either use their own money or ask for a line of credit from the bank to start production of their toys. This is how a company is able to produce and deliver a toyline in about 6 months from when preorders start, instead of waiting over a year like with 4H.

4H is too greedy to to even ask for credit or a loan, and we already know they got rejected by a bank years ago, because they dont want to pay interest fees, muchless the fees associated with getting that credit.
Thankfully, there are chumps like yourself who will defend their every action.

That said, apologies for claiming you're the constant samefag guy, as he likes to claim the 4H are "greedy" because they...charge money for their toys. Like, they ARE a business and their prices aren't that ridiculous compared to a lot of other lines. Hell, the Legions in this pic >>8571047 were lower priced then all the other figures, and probably the best quality and came with tons of accessories. Tons of other toylines feature 30ish dollar price points, even for smaller scaled figures like Acid Rain or Joytoy, and other KS created lines often go way past that $30 mark and don't offer near the same quality as the Legions do.

Arguments like "they refuse to grow" and "they're behind on releases" are also equally less valid because they ARE growing. The past two new figure waves feature tons of all new tooling, new creatures and they're even planning to launch a whole new space legion line. This line is less then five years old and has already released over 150 different figures in various size classes, builds and styles with more coming every day, I honestly can't see how they can grow any faster.

As for the delays, there has been this small issue of a freaking global pandemic that more or less started in the area of their main factory causing all production to shut down for months. Outside of that everything was moving as scheduled and previous waves arrived more or less on time. Re-runs or waves with no new tooling usually take six months while newly tooled stuff can take just over a year, both of those are reasonable time frames for any toy company to produce figures. Also, two of these "waves" are a single Horse man in two different colors.

The 4H aren't perfect by any means, and there are problems with their business model (distribution especially), but they're not these greedy, malicious, incompetent hacks the samefag always pegs them as.

While the pandemic did cause a slow down, most companies recovered much faster and have been knocking it out of the park, but 4HM are still being affected by it. They aren't some small indie company anymore. They had some of the largest kickstarters for toys to date.

They tried to grow, but didn't listen to people telling them the company they were bringing on to ship for them was terrible and... well, I think the all star wave is going to be a terrible cluster fuck. I hope I am wrong, because I also have some money tied up in it. The shipping from their main warehouse has been pretty good for the exodus and test shot sale.

Anyways, these are just my thoughts and nothing to take seriously, after all, I am just some jabroni who is posting on a Chinese underwater basket weaving forum.

Have fun finding anything about what they said pre-kickstarter. We also used to have numbers of how many figures sold before.

Still, fact of the matter is that 4H isn't getting loans to operate like every toy company out there. They're badly run, hence nothing getting made unless fanboys like yourself pay up first.
And because they're badly run, nothing else can be made except for the bare minimum that the preorders cover. Not a cent more, because they can't fund anything themselves.

Do you know what it's like being a fan? You like buying and supporting a business that does great things, right?
You like their products, but what happens when their products aren't being sold like they used to? /toy/ grumbles a lot about how hard it is to find products at Target, right?
With 4H, they used to sell their toys on webstores, conventions, and their own website. You could buy their figures well after they were released too. This is how practically every toy company operates. Back then they were able to get a bank to loan them money to continue making toys like normal.
Since they started relying on Kickstarter, they stopped doing that. The Birds had extra stock, where they were able to carry stock and make exclusives like before, but future lines? Nope. Just remainders from the minimum numbers China produces. For remainders, 4H is too lazy to even sell them and apparently hold onto that stock for about a year, leaving any new fans who see it on this board wondering where they can get it: scalpers.
So everyone is blind buying toys over a year in advance, because that's the only way to get them now. You have no idea of their quality until they're released and boy, does that quality vary heavily throughout all their waves. Loose limbs, fragile accessories, paint scraping, etc etc etc.
So after all this shit that 4H does, how do you feel about the company? Pretty let down, huh?

I won't argue that the 4H do have issues with logistics and shipping though, they've always been slow getting and sending out there stuff. Despite their major success SELLING the toys, they are still small in regards to staff being able to move all these things. Them finally hiring an outside company to do it for them *was* supposed to help in this regard, but that really did not work out well.
