>>8537980Not a boomer, I think I'm Gen X, or Z. Fuck, don't know, I sit in the middle.
The "thrill of the hunt" or whatever doesn't apply to me because I don't have any stores that sell the Japanese (fuck using the burger term "import") toys I buy.
Anyway I hate pre-ordering for a number of reasons:
- you don't know what the qc is going to be like until someone gets it first and reviews it
- you don't know what the articulation is going to be like until someone gets it first and reviews it (unless it's a Figma)
- you don't know how reliable the store is going to be with pre-orders
- waiting
- waiting
- waiting
- waiting
I honestly can't think of any good reason why anybody WOULD like pre-orders, except for the companies that make the toys. It's great for them because they get an idea of numbers to manufacture, they get their money before the toys ARE EVEN OUT so they can get ready on the next line and it gives them hype.
The only toys I'm actually happy to pre-order are 1000Toys because I know they're going to be great.
So, let me ask the anons out there - Why do you like pre-orders? Is it not better to be able to buy a toy and have it arrive within a month or less?
