theyre somewhat of an improvement. the best thing jakks figured out was giving them ball-joint ankles (also wrists). i did have to sand down the inside of the socks to flex it more, but that alone makes them the best to date if nothing else comes along

They're good quality is better than Jazwares and Tomy. Articulation could be better but really it's hard for noodly characters like sonic and friends. I quite like this line, but hope they start adding more characters soon outside of the big 4 blonic, blails, bleggman, and bluckles.

Jakks have three series: Bendable, 4-inch and 2.5-inch. And still doin' same six characters. Sonic, Talis, Knuckles, Shadow, Metal and Eggman everytime.
Plus unexpected Mighty I guess. Who the fuck ever wanted him instead of girls like Rouge of Blaze?
They should do 4-inch as modern characters and 2.5-inch as classics one, not repeat and recycle everything.
And those single-carded chao and moto-bug. This shit probably flop very hard in the end and SEGA again pull out license before they do anything decent, just like it was with Jazwares and Tomy.

just for the record, i bought 2 Metals. mainly because their shoulder joints are sculpted differently. if you look closer, you'll see i used both left shoulders on one for better range. all the toys' parts are easily swapable, so i now i have a Sonic with two open fists

In what regard? I have zero of jakks stuff but a issue with jazwares was I'm fairly sure the head was just a solid lump of plastic, so he was really top heavy, and that, paired with loose legs, is not a good time. If it was hollow that might help, but then I dunno if that'd even be possible, and there could be issues like warping the heads shape.

Some figma figures use recessed joints that can pop out a bit to give the arms a bit more range, maybe something like that could be used for the neck? As for the quill I feel the best way to handle them would be just to make them in separate parts for different orientations.
