Off-topic example here, but for example: saying "cops are cool," is not a controversial statement, nor should it be. If I say that and a bunch of retards come sperging at me, it's fully on them.
If I say it knowing they'll sperg out, yeah- I instigated it, but it's still on them because nobody should cater to the feelings of people who cannot handle such remarks without getting into a diarrhea exploding hissyfit.
