>>8564445UH, there's a difference between being able to produce millions of units directly to consumers and companies like Marvel selling a chromium "limited edition" bagged with trading card that are individually numbered from 1 to 500,000.
1. Marvel/DC incentivises retailers buying large numbers by giving promo/premium/variant comics that they can resell for an even bigger price.
2. retailers get an even larger discount for ordering more comics
3. Kickstarter doesn't offer discounts to retailers/distributors, unless it's directly stated on the kickstarter page and usually requires a business license or some other proof of the business (if it isn't sold by the case)
4. McFarlane's own intention is selling directly to consumers, actual fans. If some reseller buys it, its on his own head because he wants to treat the toy as an investment. These toys aren't meant to be used as stock or other commodity.
Who gives a shit about resellers anyway? Let their market collapse. It's better for us.
Fuck speculators for artificially inflating numbers beyond the actual market.
But it doesn't affect Kickstarters for reason #4
>>8564439I don't really understand your complaint.
You saying that it's bad that a product can be sold at retail?
If so, fuck off.
Preorder and Kickstarter only models are shit, if a line can be army built. Completely retarded, and thankfully, most companies aren't retards like 4H.
