Does anyone else miss when toy franchises didn't take their consumer base for granted? They tried experimenting with formulas and styles. Sure not every reinvention was a hit, but they at least tried something new.

>No more crazy experimentation with G.I. Joes, you're getting 6 inch "collector's items" like all of our other properties now. Oh, and some low effort retro figs for the boomers.

On the flip side, Rise of the Turtles was a total failure, and I'm sure plenty of people have a list of hated reboots. Like I said, not always a success. I'm just waiting for all the pop culture nerds to lose interest and toyboomers to leave again.
