>>8579955Snagged him the other day as i'm slowly assembling a section of my display to be unified around that particular decepticon color palette (the teals/whites/purples/blacks/magentas). I figured he'd fit well with both Overlord and Apeface, for fairly obvious reasons.
I just really didn't feel the same delight messing around with him as i did when i got apeface. Honestly just seems like a lower quality toy, and a lot of that is about the materials and seams. The arm articulation is also just kinda miserable.
More subjectively, I liked the robot mode a fair bit less than I thought I would. Normally I gravitate towards tfs with big stompy boots (Apeface and Overlord again, good examples.) but the black/white divide on each shin actually kinda turns me off, makes him look less weighty. The spaceship mode is very very good, in looks and form; totally unlike the Siege seekers who have a great tetrajet that's carrying a big shitty brick around. I just almost never have TFs displayed in their altmodes.
The Dino mode is basically why I got him, at this point. Also means I'll never have to deal with that headmaster port in the jaws, since I'll probably not transform it any time soon.
Act of transforming is pretty fun, actually. No weird tricks to learn (unlike with Apeface or Springer) yet still complex enough to both be engaging, and provide inspiration for fan/forbidden altmodes. Someone posted Snapdragon as a speedboat a couple threads back, looked great.
That being said, objectively a 7/10. With better articulation and QC, couldve been a stand-out from the past several years of releases.
