>>8592393I think 3.75 was doomed, because it was saddled with bad and unproven media-- Black Series had a lot of the same characters which were peg warming hard, but they didn't have several variants and store exclusives of those characters. It also didn't help that the color pallet for many of the character designs and costumes were all uninteresting shades of tan and red. I mean Black Series gambled with a giant First Order Tie Fighter-- they wasted their one and only big vehicle on a FA vehicle, which I'm sure infuriates people. It is a nice vehicle all things considered and the 3.75 version is really cool to be honest, I like that it's got a rear gunner seat inside, so you can have two figures inside, and it has a rotating gun turret on the cockpit.
Hasbro often went into defense mode over the figure choices saying that Disney made it more complicated when it came to deciding figures, that they no longer just dealt with Lucas Film like before, but had to deal with Lucas Film and then also deal with Disney, and that Disney would keep shit secret and not tell them what was and wasn't important, and that they didn't know about things in the movie until after the movie was already out. So, they just had to gamble that people would want the new main cast and hope the characters were important. They said this was why they didn't make a Rise of Skywalker Emperor, because they didn't know how he'd look.
