Probably not until around spring or summer. Those are a long ways away, It's actually really surprising that they even announced them and teased them as early as they did, since the first wave is all based off of the Kevin Smith Revelation series, which we haven't seen anything for yet, and probably wont see for awhile. The only thing for them that we've seen is a rough mock-up of Moss Man that was used to solicit Origins Moss Man to retailers, but used the Revelation figure for the solicitation, and we know this because it matched the silhouette they showed off for Masterverse.

I was always curious about this, so toy companies send retailers mock ups to see if they want their toys? Why even use a Masterverse one if it's for Origins Mossman?

It wont happen, because Thundercats is actually owned by Warner Bros., who decides what happens to the property. It's not a toy license first. This is why LJN made the original toys, because LJN as part of their business model was connected to the movie industry and could then produce toys and video games based on movies and tv shows owned by the studios. Thundercats themselves was created as a cartoon first with the intent that it'd be licensed out to make merchandise-- including toys.

Since Thundercats is owned by Warner Bros., Thundercats appears on Cartoon Network, which is also owned by Warner Bros., and at the mercy of whatever CN decides they want to do with the property. If CN wants to rape and skull fuck it repeatedly, including sabotaging the reboot in favor of negotiating a cheaper deal with Lego over Legends of Chima, then CN/Warner Bros. can do that. And if CN thinks making a Teen Titans go rip-off is the way to go, because that's all CN plays, then that's what CN is going to do.

I've resigned myself to believe that there will never be a good Thundercats cartoon again.

While streaming is a good place for action cartoons to go, I think you run the risk of industry people Netflixing the series. You really can't trust anyone to make a good reboot these days, because they have a natural instinct when they're told to make a modern update-- to ruin it with modern trends and ideas.

About the only real good reboot happening is G.I. Joe Classified, which is itself multi-media and took Hasbro a few years to crack and develop thru marketing. Initially they threw around concepts about appealing to millennials which led a lot of people to believe that this meant PC and woke.

During this same time there was two different reboots of G.I. Joe thru IDW that turned out to be complete trash. I think Hasbro hoped the comics might spur ideas for a reboot, but the people they put in charge each and every single time ruined it by shoving in modern politics and social media outrage crap into their books; having falsely took to meaning that by appeal to millennials they meant social media trends and politics-- an inherent flaw that happens in the majority of reboots. However when Classified came out that's not the route they went with-- they advertised with the original cartoon, giving it away for free on Youtube, advertising the line with it on twitter, and making a game heavily influenced by it, they just modernized the looks of the characters and the series as a whole to what kids liked today from video games. That was it-- no race or gender swaps, just figure out what works about the original-- keep that-- and figure out what kids like today-- and put the two together. Hasbro did a lot of marketing to get that right and actually sat down with kids and showed them art and toys and let them pick what designs they liked.

It's because Mattel did this one. The Dreamworks one is essentially another company that happens to share ownership of the character. Mattel's version will always be either the original or closer to the original with whatever they do with her. There's also two other Golden Books, one for He-Man and one for Skeletor meant to introduce very small children to the characters, which is what the She-Ra one is doing as well.

I don't think we really have any details outside of those known screencaps. And they shouldn't, one will be clearly for kids, I believe it was said to be in 3D animation like a Trollhunters or something, with a big buff exaggerated style. Meanwhile Revelations will be a "Netflix Anime" style, and meant more for adults. They probably also won't be released at the exact same time, so I think it'll be fine.

What's your problem with them? Why always use that excuse "maybe create your own IP?"? Why? They were tasked to make their own version of Voltron, their version had gay main characters, and guess what? It did not sacrifice good characters development and plots! They were still good. I don't get it just because the old version had them straight the new ones should be the same, what's the point of bringing them in the 21st century if you're not gonna change them to fit the new era? Gay kids finally got representation, as leads, as heroes. Not as villains as the 80d would've made them. Think about it for a moment.

I got a Modulok from my Grandma when I was young. He was from a yard sale, so he wasn't complete; just enough parts to make a whole guy + the tale.

Last year around this time I thought to myself that I should buy the rest of the parts to complete him. Turns out I could get the Classics version for a bit more than it would take to complete an original Modulok.

Sony wants the movie to be a Netflix film, since they lost all faith in the project-- really tells you something about it. I think it's the worst studio you could possibly have picked for a live action film. Paramount would have been better, but they already do Hasbro movies.

Amy Pascal when she was at Sony was mandating forced diversity-- not because it was a good thing to do, but because she thought Sony would make more money, which made her want to do an all female superhero movie, because she said women would watch an all female superhero movie and Sony would then make like $2 billion, and since Marvel wouldn't let her do her project, which she called "glass ceiling," as in women breaking the glass ceiling, and so she decided she'd steal Ghostbusters from it's creators by putting Ghostbusters 3 production limbo.

I know the ones to blame for this are mostly the investors who think that everything has to be a reboot of something once successful to be safer.
