+ cool accessories
+ the steel gauntlet line launcher is awesome
+ like how the emblem plugs in and out of the chest
+ great variety of hands including the gadget palm
+ solid articulation
+ poles to achieve the cape wing pose
- over priced at $70
- my faceplate mouths keep falling out
- no keaton likeness
- horrible painted eyes
- headsculpt sucks
- the cape is god awful
- too small
NECA Batman
+ love that the cowl/mask and head are separate pieces, first of it’s kind
+ sculpt work for the mask and body armor are superb
+ the matte finish of the suit really pops
+ hidden ab crunch behind the chest armor piece is clever
+ paid 24 bucks for it when it was at TRU
- face paint sucks, especially the lip stick
- the cape is thin and shitty, hate how you can see light through it
- not enough weapons/accessories
- a few of the knees broke on mine, right leg every time
Overall, it’s a toss up. I’d really like MAFEX to step up and take a crack at it. Really, it shouldn’t be hard to make a decent 6” 1989 Batman. I was all in with the MEZCO version until they showed the preorder pics with the suit. There’s no excuse to not nail the Keaton likeness. Kenner got it right the first time in 1990 . . .
