But then again im from europe - here we never had the "CULTURE" of going shopping for toys to malls in the 80s or something like that.

Yeah, but there is nothing like actually going to a store. I've shopped online before, but only for used things. I normally get new things from the store. I hate online shopping because I find it very stressful. Just thinking about it makes me light-headed. I'm so stressed that I haven't taken a shower in over a week.

It's your own fault for not knowing your own hobby well enough. You should know what things you need to preorder, and what things will be in abundance. For instance with Star Wars Black Series

How can some of you autistics go through with the humilitation of buying a toy in person? I understand if you're at like Gamestop or a local owned toy store because those people are of our ilk. But the few times I bought figures at Walmart or Target I had the cashiers visibly judging the shit out of me.

None of that had anything to do with online shopping. At least bring up stuff like getting shitty packaging, customs charges, or the fact that right now loads of countries still can't have things shipped right now at none-rape prices.

Because you want them. Video games and books ate plentiful, toys are not. Toys get picked up fast and quickly increase in value. If you want something preorder it asap most of the time you dont even pay until its shipping time.

If you want to stand on some misguided principle that's fine but dont complain when it's harder and more expensive to get what you want

What? When it comes to toys they have what I want and most of the time it is on clearance. It's better than waking up one day to find that an item you want is not available, then coming back a few hours later an finding out it will be in stock again.

I don't think I've EVER intentionally found what I want in stores. Comics store marks up figures a fair bit in my area too, so I always ended up buying online 95% of the time anyways. Also love the feeling of unboxing them when they arrive, but different strokes and all that.

You must be lucky to have a well stocked well run local Target. The one near me is pretty shit. One further away is better stocked.
Went to look for some toys for some baby cousins and hit up the toy and collector toy aisles. I found one BTTF figure.
It getting too crowded and got worse as I was there. I got an elderly relative I care for, so I have been super paranoid about that shit during the pandemic. (You know, in addition to my hikki social anxiety and slight germophobia. ) I did luck out and find one longer power strip for my indoor window lights and even that was misplaced in the Christmas area.
