I really don't understand this at all and I'd love you to go into it more. From my perspective its a great return to that "Cute but tough" aesthetic that was so appealing in the original releases. The colors are super eye catching and the transformation with all the panels opening for the Stegosaur plates is really neat. I love how they are filling in big hollow spaces with translucent plastic to create a really intricate look in a simple way.

And got some more stuff in. Beludes is incredibly cool, I love that the tampos look silvery and metallic. Also really happy that we got a clear blue "Ice Cube" Penguin like I always wanted. The white tiger is also my favorite of that mold so far.

Its almost like Chinese Dragons are usually depicted with a big bend in the middle so they decided to use that place as a way to work in one of the box angles or something. Weird.

It's the proportions, and the shift towards more mechanical than kawaii animal and the loss of organic shapes.
The lion is the perfect example, it's barely even cat like, the head is much too small from an aesthetic point of view (assuming we're doing deformed/superdeformed styling)
So it just looks like another transformers lion.

Agreed. The more mechanical while still holding the appearance of the animal they are, the better. That's why the first gen of them were so good, they looked like the animals but they clearly had robotic features to them

I just got Teardrop in, but sadly one of its paws isn't able to rotate for whatever reason. I tried prying it a bit using an exacto but still, it won't budge. any idea ? I'm pretty sure I'll ruin it if I try to rotate too hard or open the foreleg, which seems like it's glued/cemented together ?

Love the idea of the ankylo, but the color scheme kinda bores me. People have been milking the yellow + orange + grey train for so long and I'm so weary of it. Yeah, it works, but it's so dull and predictable at this point.

I hope this gets run in other colors later.

Try applying heat/cold? That can sometimes free stuck joints. First try running it under hot water for a bit, then try putting it in the freezer for a while. Heat + cold can make plastic expand and contract slightly, which can free up certain kinds of stuck joints. If that doesn't work, you can try a hairdryer for a little bit (not too long).

Have you searched on world.taobao.com? There might be some scalper pieces there if you're lucky and you can use whatever same forwarding services you've been using for Tmall. Otherwise the rest of the scalper market is on XianYu (2.taobao.com) and only a handful of forwarders support that platform.

Is there a secret third mode to Jetsam/turtle? The flippers have these tabs and slots that line perfectly. The tabs on the front flippers are used to lock the Box mode, but the slots on the hind flippers are unused in the official instructions AFAIK.

The flippers are quite flexible so there are multiple ways you can engage these tabs. The most I got out of it is this configuration where it looks as if the flippers have been retracted. You could also flip the head down if you want to hide the head too.

There is also this little panel on the back of the shell you can flip up to form a little seat for a Dianaut. Pretty sure this is an intended gimmick since the panel isn't used for anything else.

A not good one. I think the hippo and rhino are the worst body plan of any of these. But hey, if you like it, it's all uphill from that one. Try getting a bird, or the spider or crab.

At this point I don't even know what's an intended feature or not, but I can confirm I'm having a lot more fun with this mold than expected. The box says this design is by some "Metal Command". Wonder who are these guys, I like what are doing.

I was referring to the same hinge used to fold the head away for Box mode. It adds a chunk to the bottom of the tank but it's possible to maneuver the treads lower, just past the folded head.

I disagree, they're one of my favorite molds despite a slight lack of posability. Wasn't into it at first but given (if I remember correctly) they were the first real molds after Jojobs to come with additional equipment I think it was entirely a step in the right direction

This is interesting. BB isn't like a Bandai or Hasbro, they're still a relatively small operation. I wonder how Stryker will react to this. Shit, it kinda makes me wonder how I'd react, since I'm trying to start a company myself--would I be honored that someone loved my product enough to piggyback on it? Or hurt/offended by it?

Choice of forwarder differs on based on where you are and how much service vs cheap you want. It's unironically best to just google "Taobao Agent [your country]" since there are likely already plenty of your locals using it to buy more things than toys.

This. For a generally reliable toyline like Beastbox, you don't need a forwarder with a lot of customer service frills like quality checking and quick exchanges and stuff. You can just buy it and ship it. For other, more questionable quality goods you want to pay for a forwarder with good service. In fact, I think Tao has their own built-in forwarder now that offers little to no frills, that might be perfect for buying BB.

I've never encountered anything I need to use XianYu for yet. I do know that Superbuy started accepting XianYu orders last year but there is still a lot of T&Cs and no buyer protection, it's more of a "We'll try" thing.

It's equivalent to barely-regulated 2nd-hand platforms like Carousell and Craigslist so Official Taobao forwarding wants to stay far away from it. Also, you need to use their phone app to browse or search on it effectively. Just a lot of barriers to an overseas user, but that's where the Chinese aftermarket is unfortunately.

Man, jawbreaker is amazing. The side to side wiggle is a godsend on top of already great articulation, and he has so many goddamned spikes. The only thing I wish he had was a knee in the front leg, but the partscount is already pretty wild so I see why they skipped it. I couldn't be more hyped for the anky.

Dio KOs are always named something generic like "transforming robot dinosaur" and is available anywhere from Aliexpress to Serbian Supermarkets.

The ones in pic aren't KOs but orignal designs from Kuai Le Ku Bao 3 快乐酷宝3, a Chinese Live-action kids show with 3DCG digimon-like things. I don't think they are sold outside China-platforms like Taobao.
