>>8606708Yeah 5 inch scale.
They tried it again a few more times with other lines, but 5in o ring figures just always flopped.
I recall one line with really cool designs. Early 90s... Maybe, just maybe, very late 80s. I had one figure from it
Description:
-Brown outfit with gold accents (maybe a touch of orange?)
-outfit covered both arms and legs. No short sleeves.
-Hitler youth style haircut (bald sides with messy combover up top)
-weathered grimacing face. IIRC he kinda had Nixon tier jowls and a somewhat bottom heavy face.
-Very muscular
It was a Joe style articulated o-ring figure but much larger than 3 1/4. I almost want to say he may have been 6 inch... or maybe he was just the "Big guy" of the line.
I can't for the life of me remember what franchise he was from though. The character design looked to be largley inspired by early 90s comics. Lots of pouches and I think he had 2 bandoliers of ammunition crossed over his chest.
In addition to this mystery line Hasbro tried 5 inch o ring Joe's again in the 90s with the Sgt Savage line. Pic related was my designated "pocket Joe" for a good while. I liked his scale because it fit in with my Aliens and Predators. Thus, I renamed him "Dutch" and he was my little Arnold figure; since at the time they hadn't made any humans in the Predator line.
