Bitch I've never watched an episode of OG She-Ra or He-Man in my life (though I did love 200X) but Nu-Ra looks fucking terrible. Aesthetically it's somehow blander and more obviously pandering to Tumblrites than even Steven Universe. Half the "appealing" features appear to be making the characters homosexual or whatever, with the other half being shitting on the OG show and people who liked it (which begs the question, if you hate the source so much, why even remake it?). Most of the people that "like" it only praise it because ERMAHGERD SHE-RA KISSED CATRA YAAAAAASSSS rather than any actual interesting plot features. And that's just it- beyond the "We are totally progressive guys!" it doesn't seem to have anything going for it. Also most of the people praising it are the same people praising creepy shit like Big Mouth and thus can be dismissed as perverts.
Not even like I'm massively anti-gay either. Stuff like Little Witch Academia, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon etc handled LGB stuff far better and far more subtly, without resorting to heavy-handed pandering. And they were fun shows. Nu-Ra's sole selling point is "We have gays" which plenty of other shows have done, and much better at this point.
Also IIRC didn't the original She-Ra actress criticize the Nu-Ra crew for basically being arrogant pricks and shitting on anyone who didn't like their show?
