Go look at what McFarlane did when Halo started being unprofitable for him.
Reduced everything and likely the bare minimum effort to not pay any penalty fees from leaving the license unused.

Yes, there are penalty fees AND still the need to pay a MINIMUM royalty every year/quarter the license is held.

It's costly and not worth having.

I think only Hasbro/Kenner kept the license around, because it was worth millions/billions. So they were paying a couple hundred thousand every year despite not making any Star Wars toys from 1986 until 1994.

I doubt it, their flash gordon, zorro, phantom, and tarzan lines were heavily based on the comics. Im assuming this will be more of the same, only with joints. I cant believe it took this long to get an articulated popeye figure, but then again there isnt a decent fleischer superman figure either.
