If anyone wants a bigger crossbow for Beachhead, the one that comes with that X-Lord Scavenger from the Fortnite line works pretty well (though the trigger needs to be cut out).

Forgot to mention it in the OP but the rereleases of Roadblock and Scarlett in wave 3 have a different deco than wave 1 (here is a comparison picture).
If this is how they'll be handling reissues in the future it'll be interesting to see what repaints they do.

What's weird though is that his backpack has a rpg head on it but I don't think he's ever been sold with one.

Why? They are fine the way they are. Unless you just mean in terms of being hard to find figures that should get reissues.

From the art and the game it's just the ends of the hair that's dyed (and it's a much darker purple than in the game) so it should he easy to remove.

Yeah. Instead of doing a recolor of that Roadblock they should have just given the Cobra Island RB a recolored Gung Ho Vest and maybe a new weapon and given us Heavy Duty. I really don't think anyone would have had a problem with that at all.

Ohey I did that with my CI Roadblock (I posted it last thread), you're right that it works well as a redesigned Heavy Duty.
I actually hope they release the CI body in a green camo in the future, I'd put the normal Classified head on it, add a ammo belt and remove the tattoo (because my autism doesn't want two characters sharing the exact same tattoo) and then I'd have a Roadblock I'd be happy with.

I think there is a rumour going around that the reason we at getting repaints is because this wave was meant to have movie figures in it.

The golds and blues arent as bright and tacky as I thought they'd be. Was there a repaint in between or is it just my figure? A little black wash to her hair and she'd be pretty sweet

In the UK the distribution is alright, the line is limited to amazon and online nerd shops so it's easier to get for the most part (CI wasn't exclusive here so it was easier to get).
The main issue we've had is Hasbro UK fucking up on a "second drop" of wave 1 figures back in september but they seem to be making up for that by doing a resupplies of both wave 1 and 2 due to drop either this month or in January.

Aus. Wave 1 was out around August with PD Destro. It's pretty easy to find still. Wave 2 has only been at Zing and Red Ninja sold out quick. Waiting on ToyMate to hopefully get Wave 2, but they keep getting boxes of Wave 1 so I doubt they will.

I kind of prefer the more regal or militaristic Iron Grenadiers, to fit in with one of the definitions of “grenadier,” though.

The second definition, but both still work.

So I had my classified figures in a box while I cleaned. They were at the bottom in bubble wrap, not a deep box, but had other figures on top. When I got them out a week later, I'd been busy, roadblock and duke's guns had warped. Fixing them now, but I didn't realise how pliable the weapons were, especially in contrast to how rigid the duke / destro / roadblock hands are.

Thank you for answering. I’m thinking about getting Operation Blackout and getting the Xbox 360 version of The Rise of Cobra. I played and beat the PS2 version when I rented it back when Movie Gallery was still around. I have the PSP version of the game, and I haven’t played that version in years.

I sort of have two reasons to get both games. One of them is that there are hardly any actual GI Joe videos games (that aren’t on retro consoles, which is kind of a pricy hobby nowadays, unless you have a good emulator). The other reason is that I don’t have s lot of local co-op games. I usually play alone (Even before the virus, because I don’t have many in-person friends, and my house isn’t really a good place for hosting things), but sometimes my nephew likes to come over (suddenly I’m like his idol now) and it made me realize I don’t have many local co-op games. And him and I can only play through the Halo games so many times (and he’s kind of not good st it, and not being good st a game makes it not fun to play. He’s not the sort to actually pay attention at what should and shouldn’t be shot at, which is s big hindersnce in very story-driven games), plus, sadly, he’s more of a Fortnite kid, and there’s no way in hell (unless, somehow, something weird happens and I do, because never say never, right?) I’ll ever download that glorified malware, just to okay that game with him, no matter how much I love him.

In that case, which of the two would you pick? He’s around 13.

Well, I bought a copy, with everything still in the case, for 10 dollars. Also, while looking up stuff, it made me realize to hard to find/expensive Xbox 360 games are getting, even crappy ones. It’s making me feel old(er). Like, in my mind, I still picture them being 4 to 10 dollars, but now, like, some games you wouldn’t have thought twice about are almost above their original retail price.

Some people are even referring to Xbox 360 and PS3 as “retro”. Most of those people are younger than said consoles though, but still.

It was a real long wait, but Amazon finally shipped my Ninja Force Storm Shadow. This is my first Classified figure, and while I do like a lot of it, what the hell is up with the lack of calf swivel? It really limits his poseability, and the poses I can do look really bad, with broken ankle syndrome all over the place.

Also, I think his hood looks awful, it either sits too high and makes his head look huge, or sits too low and creates shadows around his face mask, making it look bigger than it is. I hope someone makes a repro hood for him.

Ended up getting X-Lord and that boxing glove, I think he'll work fine fine for a Big Boa stand in.
I wish I had one for the other hand but maybe I'll justify it by him having a strong right hook (also it lets him still hold stuff).
I might try painting over the eye hole section on his helmet to make it look like a visor in the future.

This is a pretty good example. Since he doesn't have a calf swivel, most low, crouching stances usually end up with one knee cocked awkwardly inwards and his ankle broken (or at least very badly twisted).

Maybe they didn't want to break up the sculpt on the calf, but I would have been fine with it, it already looks very colorblocked and it wouldn't have even looked that bad with the black and white offset to the left or right a little. They could have put the cut right below the lowest strap on his shin.

You could take it a tad further and give him those punch gauntlets from the ML MCU Crossbones, if you have them that is. Might fit the armor and over all style of the figure.

It did get releases over here (going off of out of stock listings on some toy sites I use) and retailed for £50 though those could have been imported.
I'm not sure why but it's a set that doesn't come up much on eBay domestically, its mainly just US listings I'm seeing and I rather not play £30 for a MCU legend figure just for two gauntlets.

Have you tried looking for just Crossbones from that pack? I'd suggest just looking for the gauntlets by themselves but I can't find those on the US eBay so I doubt you'd have better luck. Could try asking in facebook trade groups or even here, I'm sure there are anons who got that two pack and never cared for the gauntlets and just gave there Crossbones a gun.

Anyways, out of all the GI Joe cartoons series that, at one point, have aired on TV, which one did you guys like the most?

I know most will say the Sunbow series, but actually really like GI Joe: Renegades. It’s sort of like a fresh take on it, but the characters are mostly still the same ones you know and love, but just a little different. Plus, you know, characters actually end up getting permanently maimed and disfigured from time to time.

I’m not counting GI Joe: Resolute as a whole series, because it’s actually just a mini webseries that was later adapted into a TV special, then turned into a movie for home video. But it’s still really cool though, probably one of the best GI Joe movies.

Resolute. Even if it isn't a whole series its pretty much what I want out of GI Joe. Renegades was alright but I'm not a fan of the artstyle the show had, and the A-Team on the run thing wore itself out rather quick. They could have kept the whole "Cobra has to much influence and power to fight them openly" thing could have worked though.

I’ve never fully watched GI Joe Sigma 6 yet, but due to it being on 4Kids back in the day, I image it was probably orettu campy, or maybe originally it wasn’t as campy, and 4Kids’ 62 IQ eiditing staff made it that way.

Yeah, that’s true. Then again, scalpers will scalp a potato if it’s from Hasbro. Weirdly enough, some kids, from a certain age group, are sometimes a bit intimidated when a figure has a lot of articulation. Sometimes they like something that’s sturdy, something that won’t easily bend or break, or requires too much to keep up with. So these might be pretty good for those kids.

Plus, sometimes having a ton of articulation can actually hurt a figure, since there’s more points or failure. I’ve heard plenary of times, including in this thread, where a limb or something wasn’t made quite right, or the packaging damaged the limb or joint, and it ended up being too loose for proper posing and use. Depending on the price, and the material, I could certainly see these perfect for kids! Or even some adults who want to get into GI Joe again, but they don’t want 56 pieces to keep up with, just one plain, but sturdy and hearty, figurine.

But yeah, hopefully these aren’t scalped, as that would be kind of stupid. If no kids even get ahold of any of the GI Joe figures, then Hasbro will be more likely to neck-rope the series again for years, and this time, it might not come back any time soon; seeing as how they’re much more content with Transformers and Star Wars (the latter of which is also being scalped).

I believe it, as much as we harp on about articulation kids normally don't care about it as much, they're just content with a representation of the character they like. I know I didn't (only thing that bothered me was preposed toys in awkward positions).

Yeah I've has that issue with Snake Eyes, all the other joints are fine but the waist joint is so loose it makes poses hard to do.

Yeah I hope kids can get them (along with the mainline figures). The Joe teak put in a lot of work to make Classified to appeal to kids but thanks to scalpers and Target shitting the bed not many are able to get them (unless your dad is a toy collector).

Ironic they are killing hobbies due to their need for gatekeeping. As a casual observer I've noticed less people are getting the figures, you notice this with how little you see pictures posted in places like this or Hisstank or reddit.

What's the end game? You wont raise the price at all when everyone who would buy just give up and there end up more toys then collectors, you kinda end the line when no one comes out to get later waves when they cant get earlier figures in the line. Look at this general, we had way more people at the start of the line now less people care about this then an aging pop star.

Scalpers over fished and now are hurting.

Between the lack of supply from the good PoC designs (I arrived late to the party) and the heavy reuse of 50th parts in the "retro" line (only have Baroness and looking for lady jaye and Scarlett) plus it's exclusivity to walmart making them harder to find than a virgin girl in a city.

Personally it's I've had relative ease getting all of the Classified figures I've wanted so far but that's mainly because the UK doesn't need to deal with the Target BS so I probably won't drop the line unless they do the thing they normally do and just refuse to bring things over for no reason.

I remember I bought the...BAT, or something. The robot with the reddish orange arm blades? Cause I thought it'd be super cool, and I got tired of looking at Sigma 6 pile up at work. I was very disappointed in it...it moved okay, but there was just something about it that wasn't working for me. I think the articulation was just too rigid somehow.

Yeah, both the sword and pistol feel decorative, not for combat. I’m keeping him with his pointing hand anyway so it doesn’t really matter.

See above. Scalping doesn’t hurt Hasbro’s bottom line, only the consumer’s. Target doesn’t care that their employees get hassled, and Hasbro doesn’t care about stocking issues because they’ve already been paid, so unless customers get so turned off by scalping that they stop buying entirely, neither Hasbro nor Target will feel the impact. Point being, scalpers buying up all the troopers has no net loss for either the producer (Hasbro) or the distributor (Target) because either the scalper is left holding the bag or the actual customer is stupid enough to buy them for inflated prices.

This is a big fat NOPE.

Exclusives are done in order to get a retailer to carry a line at a certain number. Sometimes they'er only done because no other retailer wanted to order the line.

In the case of GI Joe, it's likely that these exclusives were created because of corona delaying the movies and Hasbro not being able to release a movie-line for dat ensured sales from cross-promotion-marketing.
Thus, Target wouldn't have ordered as many figures as they did, if they hadn't gotten these exclusives.

You realize that the movie line was supposed to come out in late summer, right? That HAsbro has been scrambling hard since corona? That everything being released right now is probably 1/3rd of what stores likely had ordered since February or earlier?
And do you realize that the last time a movie was delayed, that stores like Target never bothered to carry the movie line the next year, because it was stuck holding onto movie stock that didn't sell enough because the movie was delayed almost a year?
The exclusive line for Target was basically an apology from Hasbro in order for Target to put up with all these delays.

I'd say they didn't know, but the guy I asked about had them behind the desk in Electronics and was only selling 1 per customer as per the stores order. I talked to a guy that worked at a different one when I got Beachhead and he said that the regular Classified series doesn't like come up as newer figures, like their system doesn't have street dates because they are coming up as part of the first wave with Duke and them. Same might be the case with the Vipers and Firefly as they will probably come up as Cobra Island. And The Cobra Island Stuff is apparently a whole case of 1 figure, not a mixed case and some stores didn't know that and just ordered like 1 case and happened to get what they got.

Exclusives need to shift away from retailer exclusive to in-store only, meaning the only store you can walk into to find them is Target but you can still buy them online from Pulse or NECA or even BBTS. There’s gotta be some sort of middle ground because retail distribution is so beyond fucked anymore, whether it’s confusion over what’s actually in a case or some locations getting a buttload of stock and others turning into barren wastelands.

But manufacturers only care about their money so I have zero hope of anything ever improving. NECA showed a glimmer of hope with all of the TMNT preorders they did this year, but that has seemingly stopped completely because people stopped bitching. Scalper-only exclusives are going to bleed out this hobby and the number of them is only increasing with each year.

Tripwire in a EOD suit? Nope, he did geta repaint in a Rise of Cobra set with the robot that was originally from Sigma 6 that got reused for Renegades Tunnel Rat.

It's a new line and I think Hasbro are still being cautious and not pushing it to hard to fast. People like Retroblasting and others aren't happy about the line being 6 inch scale and not matching the 80s designs 1:1 and I think Hasbro is aware of that, and that's why they aren't going full bore with multiple 6-7 characters per wave, 2-3 waves a year like they do with Legends, Black Series, Transfomers etc.

Another reason for shit distribution is honestly just on the stores themselves. They aren't ordering a whole lot of cases of a "new" toyline that they don't know if it will sell or not. I mean Target is paying for exclusives, but I feel like that was just a pure business tactic to try and get one over other retailers as fast as they could, and not because they expect the line to be a big hit. I also think the whole "each case is a solid case of a single figure" thing that Cobra Island did isn't helping matters, especially with these stupid codenames that don't give them any idea on what they are getting. The Cobra Island stuff comes up as "G.I. Joe Classified Series Special Mission: Cobra Island - Codename: Dragonfly" and in there system it shortens it to "G.I. Joe Classified Series, Special Mission......." so they just order a case and don't realize its a solid case of 1 character and don't know that there are other characters in the series to order. And when you ask the employees, they might ask which character and you say Beachhead, Cobra Trooper or Baroness, but their system just has Scorpion, Dragonfly etc. they can't confirm what they have with what you're looking for.

So all in all its a fucking clusterfuck.

Went into Target well after open, not expecting anything but when I asked an employee who looked up the Vipers, he said it shows they have them, but it doesn't say where in back it would be, and that it was a street date of the 10th. So I don't know what the fuck is going on anymore. Hasbro needs to accept that this is a successful and popular line and they need to put out larger waves and need to urge retailers to increase their orders. I mean every Target I went to the last few days in the hopeful pursuit that maybe I could get one early, they all said they were going to be 1 per customer, which shows they know these are popular and they don't want scalpers to get them all. Because both the retailers and hasbro weren't sure how well the line would do with the new scale reboot, and considering the movie got pushed back a year yet again anyway, the retailers are likely still unwilling to give the line a chance, content their stock for a previously hard to move brand is gone, and hasbro is content that people have spent money on the brand and don't care that they're losing just as much money as they're making due to resellers and scalpers.

I heard lots of theories. My own which is similar to yours is that they(both Hasbro and retailers) didn't expect the mainline Classified figures to do as well as they did with no tie-in media and so only a small amount was made, which meant there wasn't enough for everyone when the line was unable to meet the demand.

Not true, Target can decide how many they think they want and need. They also give some sort of financial incentive to Hasbro, whatever that may be. Hasbro after-all hasn't done them for some major store retailers, they haven't done a Meijer's exclusive figure that I'm aware of.

That's how it's done, especially right now that HAsbro has all of Target's money for the movie wave that still hasn't been released.

I think the only time that money is ever exchanged in like how you're saying is if/when Hasbro wants an end cap.

Same shit with how Walmart got the Vintage SW line for so many years. Target/TRU didn't order enough products, so they offered it up to Walmart as an exclusive, as long as they would order a certain amount of products every year/wave

I went to 8 different Targets in rotations during the first wave of CI figs almost everyday of the week for a month looking for them. Ended up finding them all and an extra Trooper when I asked the employee.

This time I'm not going to go through that hassle. Just going to wait for the summer announcement for the wide release and preoder 5 off BBTS, Amazon, Target, Pulse, Walmart, Bestbuy, Gamestop where ever. I can live without Firefly or get the repaint next year when they do the carded retro repaints like they;ve done with Marvel Legends, Star Wars Black Series and Transformers.
