>>8618204 It's destined for failure.
I posted this in another thread, but a former Mattel employee who ran the Masters of the Universe Classics toy line made a series of videos explaining why the Disney Star Wars movies were bad from a toy company perspective and why kids and adults wouldn't collect it, which also explains why the movies were bad.
He first did a video on the topic of forced diversity, saying that non-white characters are not generally as in demand and never will be, because over 63% of the US is white. That there's a much smaller market for minority characters, but movie studios pretend like 50 to 100% of the country is non-white
This one's touchy because it deals with race and toy sales-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=stQGn4LJA0c He did another about focusing on the trend of female main characters in movies:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-iK2xxMpwU0 >little boys don't play with female action figures really, and the core audience would be little white boys, and essentially always will be >It's not a good idea to overly represent women and minority groups in your toys for this reason. tldr
Get woke go broke.

Brown jackets, generic storyline, no cool aliens, and there’s two characters with lightsabers, arguably the most iconic thing about Star Wars. It has very little to do with “forced diversity” otherwise Poe and Rey would’ve flown off the shelves while Finn sat. But all three were duds.
Just to further refute this, both Black Panther waves sold out of movie figures pretty quickly, even though they were minorities and women. Sales were so good they doubled down on a second, movie-only wave, consisting of every minor character from the movie, and it still sold well. It literally has nothing to do with being too “woke”, if diversity fails to sell its because it’s been filtered through Disney’s formulaic garbage “consoom” lense.
Lastly, Scott Nitelich is a moron, and so are you for throwing this out there like legitimate reasoning.

Even the cgi bad guy monster is a black venom-lite tentacle beast who I'm betting turns into a cloud or a goo at some point.
Having said that, I plan on buying two, Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie. Regardless of costumes.
>>8618366 >Honestly, I just need the head. With how far (and how quickly) Marvel Legends faceprinting has come based on the newest Black Widow figs, I'd love a Hayek head for a Wild Wild West figure (or desperado or dogma, whichever bodyswap comes first).
But a staggering ten new toys and not a single Jolie figure, not even the BAF? Which means I'm only getting one, I suppose. That's really surprising, especially since she's the easier headswap. Just slap her on a Silver Sable body and call it a day.
So now the monkey paw decision - do I per-emptively buy a silver sable for "someday" thus guaranteeing Jolie never gets a toy, or do I wait, thus guaranteeing silver sable will be hard to find and hella expensive when that day comes?

We always get the 4 core Ghostbusters. I also think there's little to no enthusiasm by the public for Ghostbusters without Afterlife having come out, and the 2016 movie hurt the brand.

>>8622584 >Get that movie ML and custom paint the logo yourself. I don't understand some people's fixation on a huge Venom. Eddie being bigger that Pete, yeah, that's how it is in the comics. But i have Movie Venom and Warpath on my desk right now and Eddie's bigger than Proudstar. No, i'm not seeing it. Why?

>>8623954 Hahahaha. Holy shit. This is so America I feel almost fatter reading it.
Unless of course we want to say that either:
A) Non-human figures, or figures that have distinctly non-human traits are NOT dolls and action figures that represent humans ARE dolls - but only in the United States of America
OR
B) United States law somehow changes the definitions and origins of things retroactively and this should be applied globally, so non-human action figures are not dolls everywhere
OR
C) A United States high court decision to save a company money does not alter objective facts that action figures and dolls are the same thing

>>8624113 Why? Ummm...I don't watch much tv or movies, but I did watch the amazing MCU Captain Marvel again the other day and really enjoyed it. Brie Larson is a really superb actor who deserves all the praise she got for that role. Her addition as the most powerful Avenger was a really great decision. Especially now that she'll be leader now that Tony Stark is dead and Captain America has retired.

The Black Widow wave was released without the movie, but these Eternal guys look terriblandest. They absolutely cannot sell by themselves.

Well, Mafex Venom is also good. Revo is kinda fine if you want this look, but the weight of the upper body is ass. Plus, the jaw and it's underbite are weird.
Select is too tall, even though I would love to see a downscaled version of him from chinks.
Hyperion mold Venom ML's are a pure abomination. Absolutely awful choice of mold.
I don't like Monster Venom ML. Too buff, like, it lack texture and some proportions. This sort of Venom needs a body mold of its own. I mean, I WANT to see something like Ultimate Venom in terms of color and texture.
Movie one is way better in terms of proportions. And if you custom it a bit, the result is gorgeous.
ToyBiz was kinda alright for the time being, but now it's blown out of the water by the newer versions.

This is all late early 1900s tax shit because german territories were trying to sell toys for way cheaper than American toy companies, so they started taxing dolls pretty heavily. Clowns were excluded from being called dolls, likely because Germany wasn't selling those.
So you're not going to get any references toward articulated toys, like army soldiers, as being called dolls until the 1900s.

And the mouth is too gaped. Looks like he got faceowned.
Instead, I wanna see something like this in terms of paint and proportions.
