Just curious. How many Targets do you have in your immediate/usual area? Just noticed i have 10 within a 5mi radius, and 3 new ones opened within the past 4 months, with 2 more in the works. One of them even replaced a former usual Toys R Us.

Maybe Texas? My brother has 3-4 Walmarts and 3-4 Targets and dozens of other stores within 10 miles. It's crazy because it's no more of a city than were I live.

Meanwhile, up north, I have to drive 25 miles to find a general department store like Target or Walmart.

Some places are so spread out, but still have a high amount of people, that they'll build more stores to accommodate them.

2 regular stores and 2 City stores within 6 miles, but 7 regular stores and 4 City Stores within 10 miles. There are a lot of poor neighborhoods in my city where even Walmart has moved out of, so Target is essentially just outside the border of my city.

because you lack common sense.

If there's a higher population density they only need to build a few Targets, because there's more people per square mile that can go to these Targets.

Whereas if there's more people spread out they need biuld more Targets to accommodate the same amount of people.

Check this map out. California is the most populated states in America, yet other states have many more distribution centers. Texas is the second biggest state, but because it's so much larger, it has many more distribution centers.

Central Texas here. I have 5 Target stores within acceptable driving range, and another 3 within 30 minutes of my home if I want to go a long distance. One of those distant Targets seems to keep a decent stock of everything that I cannot get online or which all of the nearer targets sell out of day-one, like the Star Wars Credit Collection.
