My then-girlfriend once said "oh, you have some of your old toys here, how cute!" and fucking grabbed couple figures almost like banging them together as if they were fighting. Sure she was being positive but that kinda sucked.
My friends either don't care or are interested to see if they spot familiar vidya characters etc. Whenever I have some diecast cars on display guys usually check them out.
When it comes to my Lego collection I kind of keep my family and friends in the dark about how awfully lot I have them nowadays. I'm open about buying both new sets and thrift store finds though, nobody however realizes what it all accumulates into.
