>>8638687Forgot to mention stretching too, but that's usually not a problem. Basically, like an elbow or leg, the bottom side of the elbow will stretch while the inner/top part creases.
If you avoid one, the other part will also not be stressed.
Also, avoid strong lights (LED/incandescent are okay) and heat. For rubber/vinyl, this is extremely important, because they rot relatively quickly compared to harder plastics.
I've repeated this in other threads, but for collectors, it's extremely important to invest in air conditioning if you live in a hot region. 80°+ heat will do your toys in.
It's not that important if you have like a week or three worth of temperatures above that.
However, it's best to put your collection along an inner wall that doesn't face the outside, beause the outside wall will get hotter than an inner wall. If you have a two story home, keep your shit downstairs. The upper floor will be hotter just because heat rises, but because the it will be getting much more sun than the bottom floor. 10-20° difference, btw.
And again, i own quite a few Mezco/3a figures that have that pleather shit and have some figures in extreme angles, including a deadpool that is 24/7 in extreme angles. No problems so far, but i have air conditioning and don't live in a sweaty armpit region
I think one of the first things to go on my figures will be the nylon threads, which is what keeps the material stretchy. Could happen in 10 years or even 40 years, but who knows.
Pleather itself is extremely durable, but most people's experiance with it are cheapshit chairs. You have to remember that these chairs have a 150lb person rubbing against it with their clothes that is acting like a fine grit sandpaper, heating it up, leaving grease everywhere, every single day for years and years and years. No toy will ever get this amount of abuse.
