I really hope the Mission Fleet line goes somewhere far.
It's the perfect line I find. The new kid oriented stuff isn't too kiddy and it's a good way to get real good looking ships a decent size for cheap.

I got Anakin and the Mando's sets and I'm blown away honestly.

There is no way to justify the garbage of the sequels, and any attempt to do so will just worsen whatever they force it into. This isn't the same situation as the prequels, which were flawed but had potential to be better and had an interesting setting to do things with. There's absolutely nothing interesting about the sequels. Nothing interesting going on off-screen or between films.

So, a blank slate, instead of trying to force things in that don't make sense like literally everything else for the past 30 years?

Sounds like a great way to dive into the universe of star wars without the weight of all that has to happen, boost smoke into an actualy threat, explain that starkiller base was the home of lightsaber crystals, and so many more innovative ways to use the force sensitives than just monks vs goth monks. And you get to dabble from everything.

The Bandai kits aren't really difficult to assemble. Most of the difficulty comes in making them look good with paint details but 90% of them don't need much. You can make Boba look decent with a black wash, some silver sharpie, applying the water slides, and a matte finish. Honestly you should try at least one. They're fun figures

Walmart finally sent me HALF of my order, so I've got one of my two Mandalorian Supercommandoes. And honestly, it's great, might be my favorite Black Series this year. The colors and horns just add so much, it might be my favorite Mandalorian design.

I don't outright hate things from the sequels. Some of the toys I just work into my own personal canon. It's more like I hate concepts, ideas, and plot points from the sequels; I can tolerate characters and troopers and vehicles. I particularly like the First Order Tie Fighter and use it as like an EU one. I like that it's a 2 seater with extra guns, it makes it feel more impressive.

There’s a part of me that really wants to, but my last collection was Marvel Legends. I opened up every single one, loved posing them and fidgeting. Then Covid hit and my hours got fucked. I had to make ends meet and sold whole thing for like 300 bucks at a toy shop. I for sure could have made more if I left them in boxes. That’s what has me super hesitant to open anything new now. I love the collecting aspect, it’s just cool to find things I think are neat. If I find stuff I really like and I’m able I for sure want to start buying two one to open and one to keep in box. For now though any toy is an extra, and I don’t want to open them and fiddle for a bit and gather dust. I’d rather retain some sort of value low as they may be in the future. The Captain Cardinal and Clone Lieutenant seem to be harder to come by so I’m confident in their ability to retain value.

That’s fair, you at least seem reasonable about it. I don’t want everyone to love every little thing about the sequels but for me I find them fun for what they are, and I’m sure there are plenty of kids who enjoy them. Just bums me out when people bash something that is ultimately for kids. I remember liking the prequels when I was growing up, and my dad hated them. It’s a bummer to like something and hear a vocal minority say it’s the stupidest shit ever. Likewise as an adult fan, it’s hard to talk about Star Wars when most conversations on the internet devolve to “fucking Disney reee!”.

Maybe you should collect statues instead. But from what I have seen, figures hold their value better. If its any consolation, even your open marvel legends held better than most video games. I really do mean it though, those figures are widely available and unlikely to bail you out of hard times. Except for maybe the leuitenant.

At the end of the day it's just toys. The sequels are meant for a younger audience of kids who didn't grow up with either the originals or prequels. I can find a way to work a number of them into my collection in the end.

Alright, so I was super pleased with the actual Jedi fighter ship as well as the speeder for Mando (which I believe fits TVC better than the actual 2.5 inch figure)
that I decided to drop 60 ish bucks on the Millenium Falcon. (which seems would scale better with mega construx than the Han Solo it comes with although I'm a MF fanboy so... let's see.)

It's fucking amazing, jesus christ. I'm feeling the perfect mix between Action Fleet from Galoob in the 1990s, so this is a nice nod to that, while keeping an interesting and stylized cartoony vibe, you can't go wrong with this.

The overall height is slightly smaller, the neck has a dumbbell joint but the range is worse than the old stormtrooper, the helmet is slightly smaller and also is not one piece, instead it uses an unpainted clone head with the helmet glued on, this can lead to the helmet being misshapen or improperly painted I recommend you hand pick or ask for pictures before purchasing. The torso features butterfly joints at the shoulders, the pauldrons are not attached to the arms but by a separate piece held in place at the shoulder joint, the body armor is not part of the torso but actually sits on top of it, the torso also lacks a hole in the back to attach the sandtooper backpack. The elbows are single jointed and swivel at the elbow instead of the bicep, this single joint is slightly acuter than the old stormtrooper. The knees are also single jointed and swivel at the knee as well as the thigh, the knee is noticeably less acute than the old stormtrooper however because of the two swivel joints the new trooper can take a knee, it will look a little odd as you have to turn the thigh armor to the side. The new trooper lacks a holster but not all of the old trooper had one either, so they might add one later depending on the figure.

Incredibly based. Mega Construx is a heck of a lot better than Lego anyways. The only thing Lego ever had going for it was Bionicle, which was great.

Mega has a lot more stuff that’s actually good for display, play, and can pose quite well.

Yeah, I actually was huge on Mega for years and years and thought it to be the ultimate line, but actually it's downfall is the fact its so fucking modular once you have a bunch of that shit it's way too overwhelming to keep track of all the bits and pieces.

It's not really a blank slate. They established the new conflict to just be Galactic Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo, comolete with the good guys being being a small rebel group again because the New Republic doesn't want to get involved in a war then promptly being destroyed. The state of the Resistance being so utterly decimated after TLJ and then apparently nothing major happening in the year between films except "Palpatine somehow returning" leaves no real room for adventures in this "war" outside what's happening on-screen.

Got Jedi Knight Luke in and so did some simple boil and pop mods with some pieces from the Blue Stripe ROTJ Luke.

On the left is Endor Luke body with Blue Luke belt and the Knight head. On the right is the Knight body with the blue Luke gloves hand and Endor’s head. Felt like the flatter hair matched his look better. Only down side is the blue Luke hand is somehow a little too large for the lightsaber.

If the Knight tunic was sculpted thinner you could use the silver belt too which would be the closest to his most recent appearance, but it’s too bulky as is.

Also yes, boil and pop for the hand also for the belt switch. Endor’s belt has an opening but the original blue stripe box ROTJ Luke’s belt is one solid piece so you have to pop the torso joint to swap.

MY two biggest problems with Solo are;

The problem isn't some conceived prestige to the last name, but the way and reason Han receives it. If they want to make it a made up last name because Han didn't have a family name, it should have been something he came up with for himself, not something a no-name Imperial Officer came up with on the spot after finding out he's an orphan.

Genndy Wars is in an odd place canon wise.

Lucas did decide they weren't canon, but the way TCW was made you really need to watch it anyways; since it introduces Ventress, Grievous, the ARC Troopers, and we see Anakin being knighted.

TCW Also used Genndy's art style mixed with Thunderbirds, the big book of Star Wars broads has Shaak Ti fighting the Magnaguards from Genndy Wars, EA Battlefront 2 uses Dooku's lines from training Grievous, and in the final arc of TCW they reference that Shaak Ti was send to protect Palpatine.

You can't really do a perfect Falcon in my opinion. I don't really care for how large the TVC one is on top of the excessive price tag, you just can't really display or mess around with that thing easily on account of the size, and despite that it's still undersized for a Falcon. The original Falcon from the 70's is still pretty good, which is why I like the Original Trilogy Collection version since it's a retooled 70's Falcon. I also like the Force Awakens version, but neither that one or the OT Collection version is perfect. The way I see it is that a perfect Falcon has to have a lot of the play features to it and not necessarily be an overly large vehicle.

The 70's/OT Trilogy version has these features:

There's actually a reason for it. Lucas approached Genndy with an offer to do more Clone Wars, but he turned it down. That's when Lucas hired Filoni to do a continuation, and originally it was going to be straight EU with minimal involvement from Lucas but as the project progressed he started taking an increasingly hands-on role until it basically turned into his pet project.

The ones made in the first year or so were kind of ass. Cody might have some issues since he was an early figure, but by the time Thrawn came out Hasbro mostly had their shit together as far as sculpt and figure construction so he should be fine.

Yeah, while it might not be “canon” it’s stull pretty necessary, because like you said, without it, a lot of important characters just sort of pop in out of nowehere without Genndy’s Clone Wars.

It’s a bit weird how Disney keeps on copyright striking Genndy Clone Wars videos, big tehy never actually have done anything with the series yet. Like, it’s not on Disney Plus or was gieven a re-release.

I have a feeling Disney didn’t like the idea of Genndy’s Clone Wars, despite the fact it’s literally the introduction to Ventress and Grievous, and there’s some other references to it in The Clone Wars.

Maybe since Genndy’s name was written all over it, he’d have to be paid royalties, and maybe Disney is trying to avoid that, especially since Genndy has his hands in other pots (companies) and Disney really seems to like working within themselves, which is why they want to buy every company.

I think they improved the tightness of the legs with the 3.75 Black Series and the Raider. I have the Black Series one, but that's my only experience with the mold. I didn't realize for some time that people had issues with the legs. I've been kinda wanting to get the Raider just because of The Mandalorian.

Mando finale made me realize I don't have a Luke figure, so I picked up the Dagobah training set on sale since the PotF version of these two were one of my favorites as a kid.

Both figures are a lot better than I was expecting. I didn't realize Luke had butterfly joints and that his neck moved at the base, or that the set came with an alt head for Yoda and alt hands for Luke.

What did we know about Boba before Disney?
I'm open to being given more, but it is that he was an exceptional bounty hunter who wore Mandalorian Armor, whose only honor was to the terms of an agreement.

When an entire planet says you aren't something, fuck them, but just because they say that doesn't mean they can have your father's armor.
In that respect what becomes the biggest question and character inconsistency is why he let the Marshall sport it over the 5 years that passed between Jedi and Mando.

I just never swap out the hands. You can see how the peg is so thin and brittle. It's weird, none of the SHF SW figures have this issue.

However as a result I sat thru a few of Ethan Van Sciver's videos, but he increasingly became more and more cringe and hard to ignore. It just always struck me at how large of an audience someone like him had, and his opinions even though they may be dumb, or un-informed, or misleading, or outright lies, get parroted by people as fact. And the fact much of his information comes from 4chan and there seemed to be a lot of cross-content, because his videos are often about whatever /pol/, /tv/, or /co/ happens to be asshurt about on a particular day.

Because he was one of the major voices shitting on the movie Solo two years ago encouraging people not to see it, despite that he hadn't even seen it, because the idea of the movie upset him. And when Solo came out it was an insufferable time to be on /tv/ and /toy/ because of the flood of trolls who didn't want you to like or buy Star Wars toys, because of retards like Ethan Van Sciver who thought it would "own the libs" if Solo failed to perform at the box office. The movie itself wasn't even bad, I thought I would hate it, because /tv/ said it was going to be bad, but when I saw it in theaters when it came out I found myself surprisingly enjoying it. I think, and still do it that it was the best of the Star Wars movies that Disney produced.

He's not. While I agree with some of the core opinions that he and the Comicsgaters might be complaining about, I think Ethan Van Sciver does a disservice to it, because he's not smart, clever, or educated, or even witty, and just purely motivated by his own politics and he's just an equal and opposite version(reaction?) to twitter and comics journalists becoming so heavily involved in comics as a medium. I feel that's a fair summation.
I remember threads about boycotting Solo because people were mad at TLJ. I also think if you pushed it back to December, which had become the new SW release window it might have also helped. I still look at Solo with fondness for all of it, and the only parts I'm reticent of being the behind the scenes issues, but I thought Han, Chewie, and Lando were all great, and a trinity that along with Kira could absolutely support another movie or two until Kira's highly likely death. Especially with the Book of Boba, you could have them cross paths, and maybe get some use out of the 1313 costume for him, as well as Jabba. Maybe give normies a taste of what post-RotS Maul was like? Obviously there is a lot they could play with, and considering how much Disney is eager to play in the post-Jedi window, perhaps they wouldn't be afraid of digging back into the less hopeful window between RotS and ANH.

There was a lot of backlash against TLJ and it was sort of a make or break moment for the sequels. Force Awakens was almost like a superhero origin movie in that it set up a lot of questions that it wasn't going to answer with the idea that the two sequels would answer them. And the pay-off in TLJ just wasn't very good:

Without knowing how much time will be covered in an episode, over a season, whether Obi-Wan will be on Tatooine the entire time, or leaving it at any point, yes, it is possible Maul may show up in the series, but if he does, it won't be on Tatooine, because Maul had no idea where Kenobi was when he was first looking for him in Rebels. If he had run into Kenobi on Tatooine, chances are, he would have gone back to look for him there. Additionally, Obi-Wan begins his vigil over Luke immediately following RotS. When Maul engages with him in Rebels, he knows next to nothing about what he is doing, let alone there, and intuits most of it, which really suggests no interaction between them since The Clone Wars.
Additionally, and back to my former point, if Kenobi last long enough to cover 9 years, it's absolutely possible that he'd show up and they'd recreate the fight, but considering that TCW uses 7 seasons to cover 3 years time, and Rebels uses 4 seasons to cover 5, I'd imagine it is a longshot that Kenobi will cover 9 years time. Anything is possible, though. I would simply suggest you not hold your breath.

I mean if they're going to retcon things and have Obi-Wan fight Darth Vader again prior to A New Hope, it stands to reason that he probably left Tatooine at some point in order for that fight to take place, so I think it's possible. I don't think too many people would object to Obi-Wan featuring and retconning Maul's death from Rebels either since it was a bit divisive. The Mandalorian retconned things a few times, and even changed some of the story from the book Aftermath regarding Cobb Vanth(I know it's a book, but it was supposed to be cannon), which had some different events occur involving the Jawas and getting Fett's armor. The Wookiepedia article on Vanth is a bit confusing because of this matter, since there's a bunch of added shit regarding him meeting some dude named Adwin Charu at the Sandcrawler with a contradictory story about how Vanth then gets Boba Fett's armor. The Wookiepedia editors confusingly try to have both versions of how Cobb Vanth acquired Fett's armor, despite that they contradict. Essentially Vanth's killing of Adwin Charu is non-cannon according to The Mandalorian and therefore Adwin Charu is also non-cannon.

If you want to invoke Madalorian retcons, I think there is a difference between retconning books, and retconning series that Filoni personally worked on.
Yes, I've seen anons say that it has been confirmed that ANH being the first time that Vader and Obi-Wan see one another after RotS will be retconned, but considering that we are talking about a series focused on the character who normalized "From a certain point of view" and what it represents, I'm not allowing myself to be or be led to certainty about any part of the series.

I think it's as probable as fans want it to be, such as wanting another fight with Vader, or having Luke show up in The Mandalorian. It's like if you had control over DC or Marvel but refused to make new comics with a certain popular comic book character-- you have this sandbox of popular characters to play around with and you're not going to use them?

Dave's occasionally changed things he's done, such as the unfinished episode of The Clone Wars where Cad Bane died. People used to argue it was cannon until it was stated that it wasn't. Now Cad Bane's fate is unknown and it really wouldn't surprise me if he showed up in some other Star Wars media such as The Book of Boba Fett. I just don't think it's out of the realm of possibility, because Solo set up Maul and the Crimson Dawn.

My cousins had those Luke and Leia figures. They were my first exposure to anything Star Wars and even without knowing anything about them I thought they were the coolest things ever. My cousins really talked up Star Wars too so it got my extremely hyped. The Special Editions had come out on VHS not long after and my mom got us the trilogy and I was hooked. At least until Disney soured me on SW for a few years. Mando's been good and reviving my love for the franchise though.

I particularly enjoy it, but because the hip joints are hex, you can only hit certain poses without the legs providing the proper support. I'm actually in the process of repainting mine and nodding it to make an octagonal joint to maybe help hit more poses.

I’m torn now that I opened up the millennium falcon.

The TIE and Jedi starfighter as well as X wing are amazing. I love the mandalorians speeder and it goes swimmingly with some TVC

But what the FUCK is the falcon?

Shit is basically a really hollow feeling glorified dollar store jewelry divider/container
The plastic is sticky and there’s stickers
The Jedi starfighter doesn’t have stickers
So wtf happened here
I expected way better for the price tag
Although as pissed as I am about being let down

It’s still nice to look at

But you touch and hold? Idk.
The compartments feel all weird. Hard as fuck to open the cockpit and the back for storage with dejarik table just feels off.

Still want to see the line go far tho.
