It used to be worth it when the prices where lower, the quality control existed, and the philosophy of the line was "the toy you dreamed to have when you were were a child". Somewhere along the line that turned into "iSnT iT cOoL tHaT tHiS lOoKs ExAcTlY lIkE tHe cArToOn?" and with it the engineering became much more demanding and transformations went down the gutter.
It would normally be something to marvel at if you didn't mind the transformations being pointless plastic origami that leads to ugly designs but with the nonexistent quality control and the copious amounts of paint, it's a lottery.

Look up a review of Hound, search for separate reports on its build quality, and compare that to its current price on the second hand market.
Unless you plan to stop on Ironhide and Inferno, that's what you have to look forward to in the future.
