mythic legions is overpriced outdated shit though and stylized so that He-Man collectors would want it.

Dark Souls requires something more realistic, with non-Arnold HUEG bodies, if not its own toyline.

If it ever happened, it would be either soul of cinder armor, or the elite knight armor. If we're lucky we'd maybe get Solaire or Siegmeyer, but realistically it would be some literal who instead and then that's all we'd ever get.

I think it mostly has to do with the fact that quality Japanese toys are pretty expensive and model kits aren't.
Plus, model kits are still popular with kids in Japan.

Model kits in the US stopped being popular sometime in the 90s or 80s. So shit doesn't sell all that well here and is very niche.

Think of it this way. Monster Hunter is mega popular in Japan. There are some action figures of the monsters and hunters, but not that many. That level of popularity and only handful of toys so you can see how most games have little chance of getting toys.

Goblin Slayer is Goblin Slayer, he hardly fills any sort of niche except for that of his own series. He's actually pretty iconic. I can't swap out weapons and have an entirely new character with him like I can with a dude in a set of Dark Souls armor. That's what I would find appealing about a toy line with these characters, lots of interchangeability. Every character would need to come with an assortment of weapons. Like, if they made an Elite Knight Figma without a variety of swords so I could have my generic knight along with Oscar of Astora and Prince Ricard I don't think the value would necessarily be there. I'd still buy it tho. Also Bloodborne isn't really Renaissance, it's pretty distinctively Victorian with a big dollop of Gothic. And despite a few standout designs like Eileen I'd argue that they're actually more mundane and less interesting due to mostly being relatively normal clothes. Those characters should get a toy line too though. With beasts. And kin.

They're $40 and they have less articulation than a 1:18 GI Joe from 2010.
They're a rip off no matter how you look at it.

And they aren't durable at all and plagued with a ton of issues.

See pic on how people need to create guides to fix those issues. Nevermind they never fixed the issue with their accessories being incredibly brittle.

I find that very hard to believe considering 4H stuff tends to be pretty well liked here and everywhere else whilst NECA is universally known for shonky QC. And given that of all the NECA figures I've owned I've had precisely one without any horrendous QC issues, I'm inclined to agree with them.

It's weird because this one (pic related) is on par with any Japanese imported figure in terms of detail, paint and quality. It's £30. But every other neca that I bothered buying was riddled with fragility problems. The godzillas were also solid.

I have their Shin Godzilla (beam version) and he's OK. The paint's a bit rough and the tail sucks but he doesn't have any defects. Every other figure I've bought from them has had serious QC issues.

He Man stuff here is liked extremely well too, but their fans have been abused with the subscription services from Mattel, these toys being sold off for pennies on the dollar that were supposedly sold out from the subscription service at bargain outlets, and also being extremely overpriced for what they are.

I used to be a major fan for 4H until the line became preorder only and never knowing what to expect, because there's always been issues with every single wave, along with shitty customer service that takes forever either in stuff being shipped or getting an answer from various issues.

NECA's problems are more known because their shit is sold in thousands of stores all year round, versus the thousand or so supporters for 4H that receive their items maybe once a year, because 4H will only ship stuff only when a new shiptmen arrives despite having overstock from previous waves.

PS, 4H fans are made up of mostly He-Man fans.

The thing with dark souls is that it's primary appeal after core gameplay is dress up.
Like no fucking way there will be a toy that would represent my character, since I mix and match armor parts on each playthrough to look different.

What they should do, is to go Gunpla and Armored Core route and release kits with inter-compatible parts, so I could put different heads, torsos, hands etc in whatever combinations I want, i.e. just like in the game.

The joints have to be made out of POM or ABS, though. I could see the kits' joints getting stressed under too much part-swapping.

Also, really the only other problem left would be the amount of detail some armors would have that wouldn't be feasible for model kits without jacking up the price. Probably could be fixed with some decals and/or a wash though.

I had an idea a while ago for a Dark Souls toyline with interchangeable parts along the lines of the games, so helmet, body, legs, gauntlets. Each figure would be a single armor set and come with the most appropriate arms for the character, along with a few random weapons, shields, catalysts, talismans, etc. and one piece of a build-a-figure set of a heavy armor like Havel's or boss armor like Ornstein or Smough. That and/or maybe even a bigger piece so you could actually build a boss like the Iron Golem.There either wouldn't be any armor with exposed skin or it'd be a generic beef jerky hollow beneath.

I was thinking that the buck human/hollow skin would be its own set of interchangeable "armour" that fits tightly to an inner frame. So with a bit of parts swapping you can have a naked hollow or human with some balder armour or xanthos gear.
The super heavy armour sets would probably come with parts of a "bulky" inner frame that can retain the articulation and in game accuracy.

There’s a 3 item series called “Heroes of Lordran” with Oscar, Siegmeyer, and Solaire. They’re not articulated and come on a base, but, the Oscar stands well without his base and the figures look pretty good. Stylized, but good.

I think about sculpting sometimes when it comes to characters that either don't get their due, or would never get all the cool stuff. Mainly thinking of characters like Wario who have all these awesome transformations but never get much love in the figure department.

I can barely draw though so it's just a spice dream.

I went to art college (yeah I know) and my peers who couldn't draw so well turned out to be excellent sculptors. I was good at painting and not so good with clay/ miliput but I can do a little bit of custom work on models/ toys. You might have a talent if you give it a go.
Not everything has to be done digitally and it's always good to work with your hands. Perhaps get someone else to draw you up some plans.

Go for it mane! Miliput is very easy to work with and don't underestimate the results you can get from a bit of practice sculpting. I've seen some sculpts with this stuff that look better than officially licensed figures. If you want to make ds characters, you can probably rip the in game models and use them as reference instead of drawing plans. But start with something easy and work your way up to more ambitious sculpts. Good luck.

Hey guy who took the pic here. SIC is definitely more of a 7" scale, and in this case, I do like that alot as it makes him a more intimidating monster for my 6" figures to battle. The fortnite guy in >>8668497 is the Jazzwares. If you want something that towers over McFarlane, you are stuck with either NECA or PAK(Tali in pic related)

Took another pic for scale, keep in mind that he also has drop-down hips, so you can add acouple centimeters of height if you really want to. Also he is ULTRA-pointy, you will poke the shit out of yourself if you aren't careful, no rubbery domestic plastics used here.

And unless you got some experience working with resin or model kits in general, the Dark Souls GKs can be a pain in the ass to assemble and paint. All the instructions are in Nihongo, and some bits like the Havel GK I built in the pic related requires you to own various small drill bits to glue in his chains.

They are garage kits from two different designers that were given 1-day licenses to sell their resin kits in a Japanese event called Wonderfest. The only way you would have a chance to buy them would be to either be at the event or win an auction for one through a middleman service. There's also an Artorias garage kit made by the same designer that was sold in last year's Wonderfest. Hoping this year they will bring back Wonderfest so I can get another chance to find an Artorias kit.

Yep, they are articulated. They use Hobby base plastic joints. In fact, the Siegmeyer kit I got didn't come with any joints so I had to buy some. The instructions mention that some of the joints need to be modified to fit in some parts and some kits also come with springs you need to attach (Havel).

I fell for the hype because I really wanted accessible knight figures, bought the legion starters (iron, steel, the 2.0 female knight) and I’m so embarrassed at how much of a regret purchase they are. Most of the characters have armor that can be equipped by the player so I linked you to the armor lists which have pictures. Not everything is there though so you might have to look at separate NPC or Enemy lists on the wiki or use image search for better pics. The e-hentai links are for the design works concept art books for each game.
