I've used this one to some success. Doesn't seem to have much holding power for the dust so I have to clean it often during my passes. Is there one you recommend?

Not really, I just used a cheap one I bought once in some store. They're hard enough to get rid of the dust. Nothing too fancy really, it's just a brush. There are times when I use baby wipes if I'm too lazy.

Yes. Change your air filter monthly. Vacuum your home. Dust with microfiber. Leave your shoes at the door. Shower daily. Use a hamper (with lid) and wash your laundry regularly. Also, your ventilation system could have dust built up.

I do once every two weeks. Makeup brush for everything and I vacuum before putting everything back.

Shower with cool to slightly warm water to preserve natural skin oil (dust is mostly dead skin and dry skin sheds more), find a medicated shampoo that is gentle enough for daily use and only shower every couple days or as needed (after exercise or during hot weather).

Idk if it's a pro-tip cause it sounds pretty obvious, but if you need to bust dust, get a dustbuster.

They're affordable, dont cheap out, get a cordless one. I use a soft makeup brush to loosen any dust in one hand and suck it up with the dustbuster with the other hand. I also use the brush like a little broom to clean the shelf itself.

I dust like once a month, but I can extend the time by occasionally shooting air at the figures using the back of the dustbuster. Though that doesn't get rid of the dust, it just blows it into the air.

What kind of dustbuster do you use? I have a Dyson (more for kitchen clean-up and pet fur) but in dustbuster mode it works pretty well.

could you go into a little more detail on the sequence for this motion? Because initially I feel like it'd be difficult to dust a figure and simultaneously hold the dustbuster. The way I've been doing it is to loosen the dust with a soft bristle brush, and the go over it with the dust-buster (with a brush attachment so I don't scrape anything).

I literally use the one from the picture. It's light and handheld. And my makeup brush is like >>865801 but a little wispyer. I hold the vacuum near the figures (never actually touching them with it) and then very gently use the powder brush on the figures with my other hand. The brush itself doesnt hold the dust, it gets sucked up immediately by the dustbuster.

I mainly focus on the tops of the figures and the base/shelf because thats where gravity leaves the dust. Also like I said, I use the back of the dustbuster to shoot air similar to a compressed air can, though not as powerful.

I find my makeup brush >>8658017 definitely wants to hold the dust. The soft bristle paint brushes not so much.

I just use a cheapo $1 paint brush from Home Depot.
It's pretty skinny, so it can get into every nook and cranny easily when you dust it sideways. Larger brushes have trouble doing that. So it works extremely well even for tiny models I've painted.

I also use an air purifier right next to the area I'm dusting in in order to capture most of the dust.

Air Purifiers do jack shit when it comes to actually keeping dust to a minimum. There's no noticeable effect despite me having two in the same room or even right next to shelves.
They only work for allergies and smells, and obviously to capture dust when I'm dusting toward the intakes.

Too small for anything but the smallest of jobs and don't have good filters either.

I like my Dyson stick vac. IT has the extender so i can get at shit without needing to bend over. Better than a broom.

Seriously not a fan of vacuuming shit while dusting, because i've had stuff like grenades get sucked in.

Also, why even vaccuum around objects? When i dust, i dust the toys while taking them off the shelf and then the shelf after everything is off.
IF there's books or DVDs, the paint brush i mentioned here >8665445 does a much better job, because the bristles will get into under the cases/books and inbetween them.

This is a perfect time to switch out my figures too. I rotate what i have on display.

Checked. If you live somewhere with low humidity, this is essential. You'll still be dusting a lot, but it is a battle you can win... Otherwise, you're just moving your dust around. A humidifier might help, but I don't use them because they'd give me issues with rust.
