Have you ever missed out on something so badly that It made you consider quitting collecting?

Perhaps a grail toy that became valuable or rare?
Or a great deal on a toy you coveted that passed you by?

Honestly, it is losing accessories for me. I lost Transformers Animated Laserbeak and it is impossible to find him without buying Soundwave again. Not going to bother even if Soundwave can be found for $30. I stopped collecting that specific line after I lost another accessory for a different figure (I move a lot). It's not worth completing if I have to buy duplicates just for small acessories. Too much money down the toliet. That, and they are starting to inflate in price.

That's rough, for me it's this hasbro cloverfield.
I had the opportunity to get this guy for £50 a few years ago and now listings are practically non existent. I can't bring myself to collect giant movie monsters any more without this lanky, obscure, rare son of a bitch.

When POTF2 came back out I was picking up one of every figure and army building troopers. No delusions they were ever going to be worth something, I was an opener anyway.
They got to hard to find and I was finally 'Fuck this!'.

Still haven't ever seen an Ephant Mon or TC-14

He fell and now two of his horns are missing, I once considered just quitting buying Kamen Riders that have this type of antenna horn, but they were just too cool to pass up.

I bought me an Entry Grade kit to swap out the mask with once it arrives.

nothing that made me want to quit collecting. But there have some painful holes. RiD Megatron (Car Robots Gigatron), the Timelines Deathsaurus. I once had a chance to get him for $100 and I passed. it was YEARS ago and I didn't have as much money, but I wish I had jumped on it.

Early on when I started collecting I regretted not getting the NEL Megaman Volnutt figure that's since shot up to $200+. Megaman Legends is one of my favorite games of all time but I can't justify the money for a 4 inch figure with minimal accessories. That was the first time really seeing the huge aftermarket prices figures could have. It made me second guess getting in to the hobby.

Thing is, he's been a bit unavailable for a while now. Popping up sometimes for 50-60$.

I managed to grab my hopper for $40 back in february, anons convinced me that he will go up, and they were right.
Still there are plenty of sealed copies on Yahoo auctions, so I'd say there isn't a shortage exactly.

No. I'm very careful about what I buy and only ever get what I like. So it's not really a problem for me because I collect across lines, so if I miss a toy then it feels bad, but I know there will always be another cool toy out there for me to get. Mind you, I still have my grails!

The rise of price as a whole is putting me off to be honest. I barely make more than I did 8 years ago, and figma/figuarts prices have gone way up, even doubling for certain IPs. I imagine at some point they’ll lose half their customers of the trend continues.
Losing figures in moves has also nearly put me off entirely. It’s a hassle.

Yeah this and a few others from this line missed out on during it zenith but had one figure from the line the Voyager Optimus.
I lost my TFP Optimus to some shit tier losing trade along with another $300 worth of Transformers (my entire collection). Was BS for just $100 from the guy. I should have sold it all on Ebay for what could. Unfortunately I never had the time. I've lost so much shit to constant moving.
