Robocop and Terminator already have alot of small scale figures from other companies and Bandai doesn't consider them a big market.

Bandai flirted with the wester Hot Toys market for a while but ultimately a lot of those figures became shelfwarmers. Bugmen sell better.

Serious question: does Japan give a fuck about Wizard of Oz, Back to the Future, or Jones? Outside of Wizard of Oz, I would go as far as to say these franchises are niche even in America.

Come back to me when you get prototypes of a figures that will never see the light of day. I'm looking at you, Jar Jar and Grievous. At least the OT got a relatively full cast, but I get where you are coming from here. Sadly, Figuarts seems to be balls deep in the Mando...and I think that is where they are going to stay for a while.

Figuarts are a japanese brand, and i hate forced tie in's like keaton batman or disney live action stuff.

If you want designers to have morale and good toy design you're going to have to say no to a few projects. Japanese have 0 attachment to "back to the future". In addition, what could they even make? Marty is just a normal guy. A figuarts would end up pulling off the same poses as the neca.
