Don't want to make anyone fodder but uh, I'd want to have targetmaster jets and Dreadwing boys in one squad, group people similar to era/genre/aesthetic/etc... Maybe just start off with interactions between the squad and nearby frens/foes. You don't need Megatron to hold an opinion about every Decepticon. One trick is also to write the bio from another bot's POV, that gives you at least one non-intrusive freebie connection.
