>>8688694>>8688699>>8688848Mostly a poor reaction to toy sales coupled with the scale they intended being much larger than they had any hope of really including. At one stage they wanted the Nemesis to have a robot mode also, to provide fans with toys of the Ark and Nemesis.
From the more recent cut figures we have: Gears, Polar Claw, Several of the Fossilisers, potentially Inferno & Terrorsaur. A lot of repaints/retools were also planned but are now likely cancelled such as Dinobot into Grimlock, Megatron into Transmetal Megatron, etc...
Pic related originally was larger, featuring more of the Decepticons/Predacons to the side. This should be obvious as you can see hints off this with how the poster is cut to hide most of Scorponok along with whoever Gears is looking at and whoever Wheeljack is firing at (Distracting him from Starscream shooting at him). Netflix Megatron was also supposed to be on the poster wearing one of the Fossilisers - but that Fossiliser was cut. It is not entirely clear who else would have been included, but generally the idea was for the entire Season 1 Beast Wars cast, a majority of the main 1986 cast and several from a 'potential timeline' that would have resulted in cameos from different Transformers themes.
I'm not someone who worked on it, just following the remarks from staff on the subject - including one expressing disappointment that the scale of Kingdom's toyline was dropped significantly.
