Actually no, it seems to be the joints from another S.A.S that have been gutted and used for the custom, if younlook you can see the hole for the kneepad and you can see that the bottom joint is a square peg that doesn't move whereas the top is a ball so it can swivel. All that said though it's still pretty clearly a custom.

the head sculpt hasn't been altered. It's exactly the same. The only difference is a marginally different paint tone (using the same scheme) and the addition of the saddle accessory.

Lets not kid ourselves, this is essentially just a Gyro 1st re-release.

As far as im aware the eyes weren't an issue with the sculpt, but with the paint application, so its hit/miss whether they will be painted any better.

I mean just look at some of the wonky boss eyed releases people have posted recently, like prosciutto, mista and the world just to name a few.

I don't have high hopes they'll be any different.

Their QC has just been awful as of late, maybe its just ones I bought, but their standards have really dropped over the years

I know that it's too much to wish for, but I'm a scalefag and I dislike Medicos SAS figures, atlhough I have a Giorno (my favorite JoJo).

Still I'm getting Medicos SAS Passione for two reasons:

1 - Super Action Statue's prices skyrocketed

and

2 - Di Molto Benne doesn't have any plans for Passione. They released GioGio and are drafting Bruno for some time...

But hey, glass half-full half-empty: at least I don't buy Real Action Heroes RAH. Their prices scales from 30k to 80k yens.

Did Medicos cancelled it?
I was hyped for Dio because they seem to be following a scale this time (Jotaro is shorter than Star Platinum, for example). The price isn't very good but seems reasonable for a figure that is almost 25cm of height. Do any of you have the information concerning this line?

No official info or blog post but just assume Medicos deemed it a failure or something to keep in the pipeline in the future. Probably better to forget it existed since Medicos knows how to update figure sculpts but does it on a completely different scale versus the mainline.

Soft & Wet is a lot more expensive these days, I think usually about 7k or so on Manda and hits even higher on YAJ. There was a broken one on Manda the other night for 6k, not sure if it sold. Gappy is usually about 4k or so there but he sells really fucking fast, maybe one every other week or so. Getting them at 10k for the pair is very unlikely these days, personally I'm just gonna wait for re-release.

There are positives and negatives. Selling in any forum or other website like twitter or some shit will let you keep more of the money because they don't take percentages. The downside is you're a bit less protected and a lot fewer people will see it so unless it's something VERY in-demand you probably won't sell as quickly or for as much. This is the same "formula" as with selling any collector's items online, btw. Same for anime figs or toys or dolls all the way up to luxury watches. Hey guys, I don't collect Jojo figures (yet), but was thinking about at least grabbing my favorite characters. I've never ordered from amiami before, and I'm looking at Mista there. This is probably a stupid question but I wanted to double check. When I look at the list of all the figures in the OP, Mista says [Order Closed], but when I click on it I can still order it. It's going to depend on what releases you're looking at and what year we're talking about since a lot of SAS's have been reissued (1st variants mostly) and the Medicos have changed certain aspects versus the OG releases. My current collection of SAS are 95% second hand from various release dates but a lot still maintain their general sturdiness (toe joints did loosen on some but that's expected). Personally the line is solid enough but it really needs a refresh in certain spots and Medicos refuses to go into a 2.0 stage. Articulation varies due to character designs and the joint system used, paint can be hit or miss depending if that release has a particular issue that's only specific to it like The World having uneven eye paint apps. Also the transition of skin shading from the original releases to around the time of Part 6 I believe where everyone seemed to have become a little paler. Every Part in the JJBA line has a quirk to it that either shines or held back due to one issue or another. For non-JJBA SAS, that's a whole different can of beans. Kinnikumen has a pretty beefy lineup but I'm sure the SHF line is better. Then you have those oddball single or double releases from various anime IP's that vary in quality or just plain incomplete for whatever reason. It's a mix bag of a line but SAS is the most dedicated to JoJo even with the issues it has and Medico's shitty decision making. If you want to start collecting then it's worth the dive but mind you that collecting recolors is what's going to murder your wallet due to most having an exclusive nature to them and Medicos's propensity to create incomplete display setups due to one particular accessory being tied to one or two specific releases that will set you back heavily or have become a bitch to find in general. To help with the loose joints, you can buy something akin to Pledge Floor Polish to tighten up key points.

yes and no. Quality varies wildly from release to release, they've really done things differently over the years, and right now it seems pretty hit or miss. Johnny 2nd is lovely, honestly one of the best I've seen. But just before that, Diego had issues. Lots of complaints of loose joints and bad paint apps. If you don't like Jojo enough to buy these figures regardless (which is very understandable) I would recommend doing research into specific figures and the various releases they've had. But no, you can't just PO them all and expect excellent QC every time through.

Pretty sure you can still find Ermes and Kiss brand spanking new on some lesser-known sites. Part 6 was a complete flop. Despite what Jolyne's current prices may have you believe, she was 4k on the aftermarket for well over a year after her release. SAS started with part 3 because the OVA had already broadened the domestic fanbase and then continued with parts 4, 5 & 6 as they were arguably the most critically acclaimed parts, however these, in particular the part 5 & 6 figures, weren't as well received and shelf warmed hard.

It wasn't until the 2012 anime that they went back and did parts 2&1 and I kinda feel they've been riding the david productions wave for cross promotion since. SBR being the exception.
