Sadly no. I had this set but lost it in a move my family made shortly after TPM came out. I had the communicator for a while longer but don't know where it went. The lightsaber I gave to one of my friend's girlfriends for a Halloween costume a few years later and never got it back.

His hand was torn right at the hinge. I didn't notice it the first time I tried to use the articulation, but obviously using it ended up making it a lot worse. Unfortunately I had to basically super glue the whole thing which also made the joint freeze.

The general release rex actually used face printing, I think he was the second figure in the line to have it. I wouldn't mind if this was rex since it would give me a chance to get him at non ass rape prices and would complete my clone commanders collection but I could easily see it being the 501st trooper from the EE pack as well.

I've part swapped here and there but sadly, the paint color doesn't match up. Also, they went cheap and didn't give Scorch the canisters on his thigh and Sev didn't get the tech on his ankle like the previous set with less articulation had.

As much as I like the current TVC with its mainline films and tv series, I really wish Hasbro would go back and re-release or remake extended universe and concept figure. If they can go and remake retro figure, they surely can repackage old concept figures with their normal releases.

He's actually not wrong. Genndy *does* own his Clone Wars cartoon. He doesn't own Star Wars or "The Clone Wars" name or whatever, but he owns the cartoon he made. It is part of Star Wars but Lucas allowed him to keep ownership as it was his own studio that made it not Lucasfilm. Thus Cartoon Network, Lucasfilm, and Disney have surprisingly little claim to it. It exists in the same kind of licensing black hole as the N64 Goldeneye game. None of them can claim it because the situation is complicated, but for all intents and purposes Genndy Tartovsky owns it in such a way that Disney and Lucasfilm would have to pay him to use it, and likely pay Cartoon Network to relinquish their old broadcast rights as well. This is why it has never been rereleased.

Genndy's studio didn't produce it though, CN did. They're the ones who actually paid for the production. It wouldn't make any sense for him to have the rights. As someone mentioned last thread, there's a chance CN retained broadcast rights which may be the reason it's not on Disney Plus, but that's very different from saying Genndy himself owns it and that the reason it's not on Disney Plus is because he's criticized Disney, or that they can't use the name Fordo on packaging without paying rights (which was the original argument, which itself is also moot since the name Fordo didn't come until years later).

They definitely don't avoid it like the plague but goddamn it's still under represented. It boggles the mind that in 8 or whatever years of TBS there still hasn't been a PT Palpatine. He's the main antagonist. Then there's no Child Anakin, no Droideka, no Watto, Sebulba, Qui-gon still doesn't have face printing, no Queen Amidala, and that's all just Phantom Menace. Sure there's a lot of prequel ERA reps recently, but it's mostly from TCW

Any recommendation what figures to get from the Power of the Fore line?

I happened to have a dark trooper loose from few years ago and it is was pretty nice even without the modern range of movement.

With TVC getting possible axed, I am think about getting some for the novelty of it. or it is not worst the money now? I am talking about around $17 a pop

The ones that haven't been updated yet; (Dash Rendar, Ishi Tib, Pote Snitkin, special edition backup singers, cantina cinema scene 3 pack, Bounty Hunter Chewbacca, Imperial Royal Guard Luke, EV-9D9, 8D8, Lak Sivrak) or the ones who you aren't willing to pay for the much more expensive updates.

The Jawas, Ewoks, and Ugnaughts are fun, since you get 2 of them for the price of one, and there's also a Jawa with Gonk droid that was a feet kicking feature. The Ree Yees has a better sized head sculpt than the modern one, and I like the the look of the harsh weathering on 4-LOM.

The other figures from the same EU line which that Darktrooper come with look pretty cool, and if you get them mint on card, they come with popup blackgrounds!

Yeah, the Guard Luke figure is pretty cool-looking. I got it a few years back at a flea market for 4 dollars, I think. You can also just keep the helmet on and pretend it’s not Luke.

I am really hoping that the new Din Djarin with alternate head instead of removable helmet will set a new precedent but knowing Hasblow it will be a one-off and they will keep making shit helmets that somehow don't cover the chin despite being oversized

I wouldn't be surprised if this is just a one off. Only because they already had the helmeted head from the first Mando figure ready to go. They wanted a Din head but probably didn't want to tool a removable helmet on top of the new Din head so it was easier to just make them swappable.

The old excuse was that all the Star Wars figures had unique sculpts but even that isn't true anymore. They do tons of re-use now. I mean the example of Kit Fisto that you used only had a newly sculpted head and hands. Not even a newly sculpted lightsaber hilt. So it's definitely a cost-cutting thing.

Most of their so called "Deluxe" figures would have been basic releases in any other Star Wars line Hasbro/Kenner has made.

Of course it's not any better for the 1:18 line nowadays.
We used to get large play or display pieces, and sometimes a whole extra figure in a basic figure; but now you can't even get a measly little Yeed without them jacking the thing up to $18.

I understand not being able to do alt heads and ands with every release, but the first two waves actually had a bunch of extra stuff with each figure; the least they could do is toss in a couple extra unpainted guns with troopers.

If the Gaming Greats line has shown anything, it's that they don't want to make a lot of new stuff so I feel like his default first game appearance is the most likely. Mainly because I can see it being kitbashed from other figures with just some new arms and a few overlay pieces. But I'd buy any version of him because very outfit was fucking cool.

Hasbro really needs to change the gummy plastic they use for TVC. It's OK with 6 inchers, since you usually have enough to grab on to to work the joint loose, but the 3 3/4 gets very tight and you often end up putting heavy stress on the actual limb or another joint while trying to pose the figure.

My Mimban troopers knees feel like they are going to tear if I move them, and I can't do a thing with Hondo's legs because it pulls that the thigh cut to much.

I've even tried dunking them in boiling water for a few seconds. This always works for Mythic Legions, but doesn't at all for Star Wars.

I know, right! Back then, in BDT (Before Disney Times), I could buy a figure every week if I wanted too! And if I did, they’d never be out of stock or there wouldn’t be empty pegs like nowadays either. And there were a LOT of peg space and shelve space for it, so you had a lot to pick from.

I don’t buy stuff like this any more (too expensive for what it is, and my old collection was lost, and I’m not going to spend an arm, a leg, and a kidney trying to work my collection back up), but sometimes, when I’m out shopping and such, I might swing by the toy section at whatever store I might be at, just to see what they have nowadays. Star Wars toy’s area ooking pretty sad on pegs nowadays, like it’s asking you to unhook the life support. A lot of the stuff out there now is like “trendy stuff” (Minecraft, Five Nights at Freddy’s, Fortnight, some other stuff I don’t recognize because I’m not a toddler).

However, there were some pretty cool-looking Batman stuff, which my nephew likes (I do too, but, eh, they’d just sit up on a shelf and do nothing. They’d be better off going to someone who’d actually play with them. I’m fine with replaying the Arkham games for the 1,002nd time).

Mmm, that image is a wave of nostalgia, anon, thank you! I even had that Boba Fett-Slave 1 and Mace Windu-Jedi Starfighter (among with the other extra characters the set came with, Bossk and Windu’s Astromech) set near the lower right.

Also, remember when even further back (before they had those blue box designs) the boxes were mostly white (with some other colors) due to them either having a Clone Trooper or Stormtrooper helmet as the package? The Clone Wars toy packaging was shaped like a Clone Trooper helmet, and stuff from everything else was a Stormtrooper helmet.

And even further back than that, the boxes were black with some different colors around the edges, and the box was made to look sort of weathered.

Wish we got the real Kinder Eggs stateside, instead of the surprise ones. Chocolate egg is better than the half side of cream stuff, and the toys were better in the Europe ones.

It's not even the best Ep3 Obi-Wan, though. The head sculpt is nice, but the figure lacks ball-joint hips. The 30th Anniversary Collection (2008) "Mustafar" Obi-Wan has ball-joint hips, but also a new head sculpt; not a huge fan of the head myself. But my understanding is you can swap the heads on those two figures easily to create the perfect Ep3 Obi-Wan, yet to be released by Hasbro.

Also, the TVC Ep3 Obi-Wan is literally just the ROTS Pilot Obi-Wan (#55) but with a soft goods robe instead of a plastic robe. A MOC version of that figure seems to go for ~$15 on fleabay.

Also, haha, technically the PS2 version would be better at blending in then, huh?

And this is somewhat random, but I sort of like how the PS2/PSP version of the story flows better than the “next-gen” versions did. Plus it technically has more story and different locations. Three (I think, maybe four) Jedi Temple missions in the base PS2 game, go to Nar Shaddaa and Bespin. And the funniest thing is that the PSP varsioncof the game has the most content out of all them, and none of it was DLC!

I haven't had this issue much. My Donald Glover Lando and Imperial Hover Tank Commander had loose hips that make them difficult to stand. And my Knight of Ren's head is super loose. However all my other Vintage Collection figures have been fine. Though I only got Anakin and Padme out of the new wave.

I know it was probably because Galoob didn't know they'd release hundreds of other playsets and packs, so they wanted to have Yoda, and figured Boba Fett was more fun than another stormtrooper, but it was still and odd choice.

I think it they were sold in larger numbers in a bucket they would have worked better. As they were, you were paying for a small amount of small unpainted, unarticulated figures that don't fit in any vehicles with no playsets for the same price as normal figures.

Recently go into the 6" Black Series and went on a spree, how did I do?

So far received: Chewie, Cad Bane, TIE Pilot, Jango and Ackbar.

Incoming: Pilot Luke, Bespin Han, Obi-Wan, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Dooku, Remnant Stormie, Imperial Guard, Boba, Bossk, IG88, Zuckuss, 4-LOM, Hondo and Din Djarin

Wants: Ahsoka (CW and Rebels), Mace, ROTS Anakin, ROTJ Luke, Thrawn, Vader, Greedo, Dengar, Aphra Bo-Katan and Sabine.

Any further suggestions, especially quality wise? Krennic and Gideon for example seem terrible from what I've seen online.

I enjoy Krennic for what he is. And he’s super cheap to get. But, I’d wait to see if they do a photo real update on him. In regards to Vader though, I definitely recommend the ESB Vader. It looks even better in hand than it does in pictures.

Looking at the Hasbro site a lot of 'human' figures seems to have this soulless glare to them. Maybe it is the poses or the pictures themself or just examples of uncanny valley. ESB Lando has this issue as well. Even Lego minifigures show more facial expression.

Cara Dune. I never found the normal one, but I actually like the colors on the Target concept figure more.

Commander Bly seems to be the best overall clone trooper they've made.

Dewback is very articulated for a quadrupedal animal toy.

Rey's Speeder looks like a nice vehicle, even if you don't like Disney Wars era stuff.

Man, the Black Series Battle Droid is such a disappointing figure. And fragile. Within minutes of getting him I accidentally snapped one of his arms off at the upper arm swivel. First time I've ever broken a figure like that. Not even my any of my old 3.5 inch Battle Droids were flimsy like that.
