Take this for instance. Takes up an entire wall but it doesn't need a large box Magic/Pokemon players use to store their cards.
This is still a rather large collection, because it's all relative.
To some people just having 50 figures seems like a lot, because they don't have the money or the space to keep them.
To me, value really doesn't matter when you consider how big or small a collection is. Sure, you can own 20 figmas and have paid $1000, but it would look outright anemic compared to someone's Vintage Star WArs collection numbering in the hundreds, despite only costing $1000.
But this is just my view, owning thousands of toys. Once you have a good paying job, the value really doesn't really matter. It comes down to what you want and having the space for it.
It's money that would have been spent going out for dinner, watching a movie, buying a video game, going on a trip, etc etc.
