>>8726991I did that a lot more when I was a kid, a few of these knock-off bugboys were my childhood Insecticons, and their obnoxious colors didn't even look out of place during G2.
>>8727007>And also the fact that if you want anything new you're basically stuck with hollow shit now that Hasbro decides to insult kids' intelligence with the "mainline".It's disappointing that kid/toon centric lines have taken a hit in quality, but I think they probably don't sell nearly as much as Generations which could be why they've gone that route....I could be wrong about that, but based on what collectors prioritize it sure seems that way.
>I think I'd be less mad about it if they did characters from lines other than G1 now and again (Kingdom is definitely a step in the right direction with BW getting recognition at last).Well, Beast Wars was only a matter of time really, it does have a pretty specific bubble of interest considering it has never really been reran or anything so it's pretty much only going to profit off 90s kids, who are a bigger part of the collector side of things right about now.
As for RiD and Unicron Trilogy shit, you could keep your hopes that it also is just a matter of time, but honestly I don't even know if they'll ever go balls deep into that stuff cause quite frankly it just isn't beloved like Beast Wars or G1 are, a lot of people consider that to be a bad time for the franchise, just like G2 which will also likely never get any love outside of rare bones tossed or cheeky homages. I think that is kind of where the 00s anime years are stuck, but only time will tell.
