By 'realism' I mean what it meant during the PS3 era. Gray, brown and gritty. I was comparing Zartan to his original and 25th versions yesterday. The older toys have a hint of maroon to their brown hood and pants. The black is a shiny material. The eyes are a bit bigger and more striking. Classified is one of the better Classified figures, but it still succumbs to 'REAL IS BROWN' and is visually less interesting than the older toys.

The demand seems way too big right now for the line to die cause of people selling collections and quitting. Look at how many people are buying up Vipers at 80+. Hasbro will let this fester for a while and then reveal repaints/variants later on that are easier to get. All of those get bought up, and they repeat the cycle with another Cobra Island wave this fall

I mean, we've only seen one so far, who knows if they'll all need to be repainted. Target stocking more won't really solve anything, site will still get flooded with bot orders, stores will still have a line of 40 year olds harassing employees to sell them early. It's weird how easy it's been collecting Joe's in the UK, aside from Hasbro fucking up their wave 1 restock last year most of it's been relatively easy to get despite it not being stocked by the major toy shops like Smyths (guess it helps that we have no Target so CI isn't exclusive).

Thank you. I have maybe 500 figures on shelves and a small staging area that can barely fit this Disney Toybox setup. I can’t afford the space to have everyone posed. They’re all posed on the staging area when I have the time to take a photo or do a review, and then they go back to the shelves. I’m also running out of room as is...

I do the same thing, I have a open air display area where I pose my toys interacting and another armour shelf for the same purpose but I use the other 5 shelves for "storage", or more so a character select screen where everyone is in a pose group shot.
But at the end of the day it's about what makes you happy, nobody should care about randos online who get mad about what others choose to do with their toys.

People will quit when they can't get shit, and aren't willing to pay 3-4x the price on eBay. Hasbro sucks at keeping product on the shelves. Even waves one and two disappeared fast, and they were wide releases.

Absolutely. Poc era was so unbelievably good, it hurts to know we will never return to such a time. Detailed realistic sculpts, good copious paint apps, modern reimaginings of classic characters and all new ones as well. Lets not forget the assload of useful accesories, like pic related tho not specifically from the poc line itself.

What do you play on? Console or PC? And if console, which one? On Xbox One, the base game and the Digital Deluxe edition goes on sale periodically. I got the Digital Deluxe version a few weeks ago for cheap.

Also, regarding that game, some of you gun-nuts might enjoy then, but from what I’ve played of the game so far, the in-game models seem to have trigger discipline when not in combat, at least some do.

It was truly the golden age of Joes. The amount of accessories and the sculpting was god-tier, and especially considering the prices.

My only gripe is that they used that horrible gummy plastic which deforms and disgusting sticky paint for the 50th sets. All of mine are showing signs of damage and they have been stored in boxes for a few years now to keep them away from sun and similar. I guess that's why they have reissued several of the figures now, to make sure they are available in better materials.

It only occurs on the 50th collection. The Low-Light vs Night Viper pack for example, that release of Low-Light feels a lot "stickier" and his paint is worse than the POC original. The Night Viper has extremely soft, gummy legs compared to the retaliation release and his paint detailing is both lower quality and he has less of it.

Most of my actual figures from 50th are fine aside from some Iron Grenadier legs, mostly shins. But I definitely notice this on the accessories. Entire holsters and sheaths bent with the weapons inside, bendy swords in general, webgear that can't stay closed, guns with ED, holsters looser than your mom, ect. IG's sword-belt combo in particular always seems to have something going on.

Still, worthwhile purchases at the time, not impossible stuff to fix. If it were still available now, I'd buy it. I wouldn't be shocked if Retro rips most of 50th down the road anyway, already ripped 6 I think. Hopefully IG gets some new parts if that happens.

SE, SS, and the Hiss driver feel fine in hand. The plastic quality seems okay, but the tooling on the driver's legs isn't great. He sits kind of funny.

I ordered Baroness online and her face was so fucking ugly I didn't even open her. I may as well just go all in on a custom head for my 50th body. Scarlett looks better in pictures, but I don't want to roll the dice on face-apps again, I'll only pick up her or Jaye if I can see their faces first.

My Crankcase looks like a crackhead, but I don't consider that a negative. Primitive tooling tho

That first year of 50th are plague with quality control, Flint had bad wrist skin paint, That Heat Viper's fucking purple let alone the gummy weapons. Lady Jaye's paint apps for the face, Baroness wtf, Snow Job's gloves popping off the wrist so easily. They were rushed, remember the Night-Viper having the colors swapped.

Yeah I do have a small diorama (neca street scene) but nothing big like some collectors but really I just didn't see the need for like 50 troopers since at best a single Joe will be fighting 2 or 3 at a time.
Plus there is space to think about, I collect other lines as well so I don't really wanna dedicate a whole shelf to a single army builder when I'd prefer to fill those spaces with actual characters or unique units like the Vipers.

Red ninja is probably your best option. Anyone with the snake eyes lower torso is a guaranteed fit, you’ll just need to: >remove the legs and the rubber pants on the hips

Mine had this problem. The little balls that fit into the legs seem to be grippy-er than most figures in the line, so kicking the legs forward puts undo strain on the drop down leg pins. They were turning white, like most plastic does when you stress it. I had to swap mine. Once I did it, I put the FF pins on Red Ninja and honestly both figures didn’t have any issues kicking the legs forward and destroying the pins. So it just seems like Firefly’s pins aren’t great with Firefly’s legs, if that makes sense: Red Ninja is fine with them, they’re not strained at all.

The Mark 1 suit and a lot of the clunkier suits work as well.
These guys with some paint could put Vipers out of a job. - particularly the tan one v range vipers.

They had every meme assault rifle and SMG in there and also had a .50 cal for Leatherneck. They had since the 1982 line actually, they had M-16 and Dragunov for example so it seems a bit strange they are using Nerf guns now. Even their 12in in the 00's have real guns. The only other time I remember them using fake guns was in the sigma six line

Yeah. The hips are made up of the pins, the hips themselves, and the rubber crotch piece. You can swap any of it, but I wanted Firefly to be gray in as many places as possible. Also, switching the rubber pants doesn’t require boil-and-popping the hips, but swapping the hips or the pins would.

Posted in the last thread about how tight his hips were. Trimmed off the bumps on the ball and works fine now. No looseness at all and the peg doesn't twist with the hip socket. All the other Joe's didn't have a problem. Not sure if Hasbro lowered the plastic quality.

It could if there was a big schedule change in the factories from the movie getting pushed back and whatever else they have in the pipeline for Classified. Well for Roadblock his vest just limits him way too much, same with most of the vests in Classified honestly.
I'm not sure about Gung Ho, his head is a bit too big but other than that he is fine, but he came out in a wave with two more interesting characters.

CI Roadblock is one of my favorite figures in the line, but the regular release just does nothing for me. I've been thinking about why, too.

Face looks oddly waxy in person, while the others look overall very good. His expression is also completely blank and devoid of personality, which combined with the waxiness just looks bad. Make him determined or angry or something, but he's just blank and shiny. I think his palette might be too drab, too. Olive pants on dark brown skin isn't terribly interesting. The splashes of color aren't enough to balance it out. His weapon is also stupid. I think overall he just comes off kinda dull. Cobra Island Roadblock, on the other hand, has plenty of contrast and just plain looks cool.

I also 100% believe that a portion of the worst GI Joe fans are racist, but I don't think that's even the biggest factor.

As for Gung Ho, I have no idea, I've yet to see him in the wild, but I'll grab him if I do.

Like I've said before, we don't know of the Trooper is the exception or the rule until we get another release.
Speaking of though I do actually like the Infantry look, though I do prefer the black CI version more the bits of silver are nice and match up well with CC.

Firefly's knees were completely locked up, so was the Viper's shoulders. Had to heat them up. Viper's dropdown hip joints are incredibly loose, his legs just droop down when I pick him up. Hip ball joints were tight as usual and creaked, had to pop them off and sand the nubs like people here have suggested. Wrist hinges are super gummy and feel terrible to articulate. Wave one had similar issues, but both CI waves have had significantly worse for me.

I've got Zartan, Trooper, Flint, and Lady Jaye on preorder too. I bought the Pulsecon CC and the Special Edition Snake Eyes but I'll probably end up selling them both, I'm not big on doubles (although I made an exception for Pimp Daddy Destro).

This is all I have so far. Decided to wait on Roadblock because I always figured he'd be the easiest to get for cheap, so I'm waiting for him to drop to like $15 on Amazon. Same with Gung Ho.

I've got a case of Red Ninja on the way that is being split between my friend and I so I'll have 5 in total. And then Zartan with 4 Infantry on preorder. Didn't preorder Flint or Lady Jaye because I'm trying to slowdown my spending and already had a shit ton of Star Wars figures on order. I was super tempted to get the Fortnite Snake Eyes but I don't want to pay the extra money for all those stylized weapons. I'll just grab a retail Snake Eyes and repaint him to match later down the road.

I've also got Scarlett, SS, both Destro, and Baroness. Target gave me the release date run around while I watched stock disappear on popfindr(which doesn't seem to be working anymore), and I've only seen normal Roadblock and SE in another store, and I wasn't interested. If I can pick up the ones I like, I will, but I'm still gonna air my salty grievances over the mainline trooper and the awful ass on Baroness. Not to mention the utterly miserable distribution.

I had a Red Ninja on order, but it got delayed so much, I just canceled it and used the store credit to buy some little Joes from the same store. Not scaleshitting, just got impatient and saw some stuff I liked.

samefagging here, but I only just now noticed Target's exclusive once again being Cobra Island. Spooky. I recall their 1/18 exclusives being pretty easy to find back then though, and they were also frequently recolors rather than standard deco. Good times.

Feels like it was yesterday. Somehow I managed to find every wave minus the tail-end stuff when the movie figures started trickling out, and I wasn't even hunting them myself. I was an adolescent tagging along with my parents on trips to the store. And I'm just now realizing that next year will be the 40th anniversary. Fucking crazy how time flies.

Probably unfortunate as far as sales go, but I lost interest in a pretty opportune time. Missed a little bit of movie and 25th, but when I saw them in Ross/Marshalls/whatever I couldn't say no at that price. And it got me back in with enough time to get into PoC, Renegades, basically all the cool stuff. Still got most of the good stuff from 25th and the movies through the discount stores and such.

The Infantry's blue definitely looks darker than it did in the promo pics. Almost the same shade as the CI version.

I'm making one of my CI troopers the sniper and then my other one will be the officer. With the four infantry I have ordered, I'll have a good little squad. Hopefully I can find some Vipers one of these days. I just want two.
