>>8740478Putting aside the console wars, it mainly boils down to one major factor. Are you a boomer who prefers Classic Chun Li or a zoomber who prefers Modern Chun Li?
The two best and semi-affordable ones on the market now are the SHF and Storm Collectibles versions. There are a few others but these two are the top two choices.
The SHF Chun Li is Classic. So she has an anime face that's almost China doll-like, such as you might find in SF2 or the Alpha games. She's the most articulated and posable of the bunch, and while her price isn't great, it's not too bad on the secondary market, especially since she comes with a decent amount of accessories. She'll also fit in nicely with 1/12 figures as a petite Chinese woman; even among figures with photo real face sculpts.
Storm Collectibles Chun Li is based on the aesthetics used in modern Street Fighter. Contrary to what some others have said, it's not more realistic, but it IS more stylized. Meaning she's got man hands and thunder thighs. These are not criticisms by the way. She needs to have those in order to be accurate to the modern games. She's bigger and doesn't quite fit with existing 1/12, however, 1/10 is becoming more common in the market, such as with McFarlane and NECA. And honestly, SC as a whole, has the better Street Fighter and fighting games line compared to Bandai's SHF. SC Chun Li also has her cooler but skimpier "battle dress" if you're looking for something different.
But okay, the elephant in the SC room... the SC Chun Li's face is not great. She looks like a once pretty, but now over the hill crackwhore. It's not that bad in hand but noticeable in close up photography. This is the face that launched the SHF/SC Console War. It's why every SF thread that's asking for a Chun Li will INEVITABLY have people knocking on the SHF's anime face.
But they're both good pick-ups.
