I dont collect gi joe classified bar having a few figures, but why is it so fucking hard to find? Id like to get firefly but target doesn't seem to get any in, what the fuck is wrong with hasbro that they arent making enough product to meet demand, are they just lazy?

Sell the line and never look back or just appreciate what you have and don’t stress yourself trying to find them. I ended up selling my classified collection because of the time waster driving around trying for a chance to find a figure.

It's hard to find, because it wasn't supposed to be the main Joe line. There was supposed to be an entire section just for Joe figures at Target and Walmart, and Classified was just supposed to be something that sat next to it on 3 pegs next to the Joe movie toys. These toys were labeled as "core" and had vehicles as well. There was also supposed to be movie figures in the Classified style, but all of this stuff was held back by Paramount, since they're waiting to release the movie on account of all the theaters being shut down. They're likely all sitting in a warehouse somewhere. So, because of this you end up with Joes in a teeny, tiny section of just three pegs at all retailers and all retailers sold out right away.

GI Joe fans are notoriously autistic, so if it's not scalpers buying up the entire stock because they know there are enough fans to buy the figures at whatever price they set, it's fans buying 35 army builders that all stand arm to arm, get completely lost in the crowd and all blend into each other, so that no one else can have any.

Lastly, about half the line has been exclusive to one store.

It is not a fun line to be into.

I quit the line after I caught COVID from driving around checking stores for them (I work from home so I don't go out much to other places). Really irresponsible for a company to force us to go to retail stores during a pandemic

It's up to stores to order enough products.
Hasbro basically only produces enough to what distributors and large companeis like Target and Walmart order. This is how all toy companies work, unless they're made-to-order companies, who actually take way longer to produce anything.

Right now it's the after-Christmas season, and many stores are too busy counting their money to order more (new) products.
It's usually until February and sometimes even March before we start seeing stores restocking, which is around the time stores reset their store shelves.

Hasbro could and should be more intelligent about how they release things during a pandemic. But come on. This is 100% on you dude. You knew the risks and said to yourself, "this toy is more important than my health." Nobody held a gun to your head and forced you to go to Target. You could have either paid the scalper price online or just skipped the dang toy. It's not essential to keep living.

I've given up on Cobra Island after I got all the first wave, going to 5 Targets everyday and asking the old lady at the toy aisle about them. Rushing to the Target because popfinder showed 6 instock only to be told they're still in the truck and then seeing popfinder go from 6 to 4 to 0 as I was sitting at work. Fuck that. If I see them on pegs during my regular stops at my local stores then yea I'd pick them up.

But I'm holding on because once they put the movie is out they're going to flood the market like they do with Marvel stuff. Hopefully the movie is decent and since there aren't any MCU movies other than BW, which is very similar, it might be a big hit.

And just like Marvel's Eternal figures, I hope they never come out. They'd fucking rot on shelves. If they were smart, they'd see the demand for Classified over the last year and completely pivot towards that line entirely and start pumping product out.

I think the "Core" figures will likely be 1:18 movie figures. They've been held back because Paramount hasn't released the Snake Eyes movie. I'm of the opinion that the "Retro" line was mostly something they quickly threw together from existing molds, which is why most of them are from 50th and the Hascon sets or in the case of Scarlett a figure thrown together from existing parts with a new head. Same goes for Roadblock. It's like when Hasbro quickly repacked a bunch of 5POA Star Wars figures as Galaxy of Adventures figures-- it was just to get product out there in a quick and lazy way.

I can't judge them until I see them and their out, but I really liked a number of the Retaliation and Rise of Cobra toys and was able to pretty much integrate them into my Joe collection. There was a lot of useful vehicles and guns and army builders in those lines, and even some nice re-use of characters who didn't appear in Rise of Cobra who got figures, such as Arctic Shipwreck.
