the G1, while great for it's time (especially compared to other combiner torsos) has only one axis rotation for his shoulders, elbows, and limited rotation wrists, and it's all the SAME 1 axis.
Legs are great though, top notch.
But compared to the POTP one, he has good legs, and 2 axis shoulders, and 2 axis forarms (the bicep swivel) while having effectively the same limited wrist rotation. And slight ankle tilt
In robot mode, its got waaay better dragon heads and tail, including articulated mouths.
For torso mode POTP gets the upper hand due to 1) not partsforming, and 2)Not covering up the ENTIRE torso with said part.
To be fair, it's REALLY hard to find a G1 toy that could stand up to a collector line. It'd be a little more fair to compare it to the mainline. Compare that Hun Grr to Beast Hunters Hun Grr? G1 blows it out of the water
